Crabtree will undergo surgery (1 Viewer)

ESPN.com reports Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree (foot) will undergo surgery to repair the stress fracture in his foot Wednesday, March 4, and will not run at his college's Pro Day.

I like Crabtree, but you have to take a step back if you are SEA or OAK.

If you draft a guy in the top 10, who "shrunk" two inches in two months, and wasn't able to work out for you, then had foot surgery, you are leaving yourself open to major criticism if he flops.

I think most people knew the guy wasn't 6'3'' despite Texas Tech had him listed at. Perhaps Crabtree not working out will scare some off but I doubt his extensive resume, game tape, 41 TD's in the past 2 years etc is not scaring off the majority......he is a top 10 WR no matter the injury/non workout IMO. I think there is more inherent risk to his draft stock if he ran on his pro day with this injury so he is doing the right thing in getting healthy, taking care of the things he can control then deal with the rest when it matters.

Completely agree with this. It was pretty easy to see that he wasn't 6-3 so believe many who followed him closely were already expecting the 6-1 measurement...I personally didn't blink an eye at it.His skills translate to someone who "plays much bigger" than his measured height. Believe I read somewhere that his wingspan (arm length) is one of the biggest of many recent WR's coming out comparatively to his height. Combine that with the way he comes back to the ball and snatches it out of the air with his hands so instinctively he plays like he's 6-3 or taller more often than not.

Al Davis will not take a tape measure to this guy

He seems (Crabtree) like the perfect pick for Oakland

Fit right in with Russell, McFadden picks

Backing up some info about his wingspan....Aaron Weinburg says Michael Crabtree's giant wingspan more than makes up for only measuring 6'1" in height. Crabtree has longer arms than both Calvin Johnson and Brandon Marshall.
