CRABTREE (1 Viewer)

This was expected, as MaddHatter alluded to in his post - Crabtree just had foot surgery. This does have some impact as Crabtree is expected to line up at the same position as Josh Morgan - split end - and a lot of people are writing off Morgan's chances for 2009 already (at least judging by early rankings). Morgan will get more reps with Hill and Smith and be more prepared to win that battle over Crabtree because of the time he's missing with this injury.

(Rotoworld) The 49ers don't anticipate Michael Crabtree (foot surgery) participating in their May minicamp.

Analysis: The camp is next weekend; Crabtree won't be healthy for two more weeks. He's expected to be full-go by training camp, though.

If you notice the date, the day of/after the draft, this new little blurb you are writing doesn't fall under the "This can't be good!!!" way of thinking but the "This was 100% expected and isn't news!!!" way of thinking.

The day after the draft Singletary said Crabtree would sit out all rook camps and OTAs until 100% healthy.

Relax.

Not practicing because of injury in MAY...BFD. Not practicing because of being hurt in MAY...BFD.

Seriously, was this thread started b/c somebody want Crabtree to drop in their Dynasty League?

I grabed Crabtree 1.3 in a dynasty league rookie draft. I knew he might be slowed by the surgery . I had Josh Morgan already so I am really not that concerned about it.

And it's not like he stayed home. He han't been participating in drills, but he is at the camp and been in all the meetings to learn the offense. Definite non-issue.

Later, a team official explained that Battle would not be showing up until today. No stated reason. For the record, No. 1 draft pick Michael Crabtree was not practicing because he is still rehabbing a broken foot. But at least Crabtree was out there in the warm sun, observing the proceedings. Crabtree also played catch with quarterback Alex Smith before the morning OTA.
