For this year?My expectations are Holt will outproduce him from here on out.His upside is higher than some guys on my bench. Is anyone picking this guy up? I have Torry Holt and am very tempted to put in a claim for a higher upside player. I think Holt has shown what he has, and he will never start on my team. What are your expectations?
High-powered SF offense?MC Tree?Hipple said:IF he becomes the go-to-guy in a highpowered SF offense (aided by a good defense) I'd rather have MC Tree
That would be awesome. On a non-FF football note, I hope Singletary makes him a gunner on special teams. We were winning without you, rook - go earn your stripes.
That would be, until he tears an ACL!That would be awesome. On a non-FF football note, I hope Singletary makes him a gunner on special teams. We were winning without you, rook - go earn your stripes.
Nice. Not worth an add in redraft leagues. IMO he's a good six weeks out from knowing the offense and his QB well enough to even consider. 350/3 is pretty much his ceiling, and I like all of your WRs (including Holt) more than a talent who has done nothing at the highest level.

I take it you are in the knee-jerk reaction group that added him once he signed. I would be incredibly surprised if he even gets on the field let alone catches a pass.I bet he catches a TD in his first game vs. Houston.
Had I made it to the NFL out of college, Mike Singeltary is the coach I would want to play for. He demands the best and he cares. He truely cares. As far as Crabtree goes, he's not going to endanger him. He's not concerned with the financial crap. When Crabtree shows up, Mike will look at him and tell him "Rook it's time to play football, get your nose in the playbook." then he's going to ride him during practice to get him in shape and catch him up. When he does, he will get every opportunity to help Mike's team win. If Mike doesn't feel he's ready, he will not be in the game. Basicly, it's up to Crabtree how much and when he sees the field.I don't doubt that he will, Samurai Mike will make him earn it. Sing is great for sound bytes, he was mic'd up for the Niners vs. Rams game:On a non-FF football note, I hope Singletary makes him a gunner on special teams. I especially loved this one "Man, Chilo's gonna make me knock him out."
ding.No way in hell does Mike Singletary let this jack, you know what, see the field in any significant capacity unless he is borderline genius when it comes to learning the playbook.
There may be a reason he fell in the draft. We'll see. I have him tucked away on my roster in case he turns out to be the real deal. Who knows? CHarles Rogers had all the tools, too. He was a natural.Everyone is really underestimating how good a WR this guys is. Yes it may take him a few weeks to get acclimated, but I could honestly see a TD a week after that. he has some of the stickiest hands ever and knows how to come down with the ball. He is a natural (unlike Heyward-Bey). Bottom line NFL teams use the most talented and productive guy. Give him 3-4 weeks and he will produce.
No more than WR3 of course but still worth a roster spot.
Raye has already said that, for the first few weeks he's eligible at least, he's only going to be on field as the 3rd WR in 3 receiver sets. I think Mike Sando reported that the 3 WR set is a package that the Niners have only used for something like 45 plays in their 4 games so far. So, for ~10-15 plays a game, Crabtree will have to fight V. Davis, Bruce, and Morgan for targets, all of whom have rapport with Hill at this point. Maybe he leapfrogs those guys at some point near the end of the season, but unless he's the next Randy Moss or something, I highly doubt he'll have the opportunity in this offense.Bottom line, I can't see Crabtree having any potential to contribute to your fantasy teams this season.Everyone is really underestimating how good a WR this guys is. Nah, I know he's good. I'm a Texas Tech homer and I watched him play.Great hands? Yes.Yards after the catch? Yes.But he has apparently been studying Josh Morgan's position, and the offensive coordinator says he wants Crabtree to learn the slot position first instead. And after he learns it, he'll only be in the game for 3rd down packages. I'm willing to bet he won't be startable in FF this year. Grab him in a keeper league for next year. Or in redraft, pick him up if you have deep benches, and only as an "unknown" and unlikely potential breakout.Maui Monster said:Everyone is really underestimating how good a WR this guys is. I don't think he'll have much value in re-drafts, but I do agree he has more upside than Holt. His upside is higher than some guys on my bench. Is anyone picking this guy up?
