Creating the continents to ratio... (1 Viewer)

So we are creating a large wall size world map for fun. We are going to use large flat sheets of paper and paint them for the ocean and then trace continents off the SMARTBoard on pieces of poster board and put them onto the blue paper. My issue is how would I get the continents to be the correct ratio so I am not just guessing? Any ideas?

Where are we doing this? Will there be snacks?

this help?

Asia 30.00%
Africa 20.30%
North America 16.30%
South America 12.00%
Antarctica 8.90%
Europe 6.70%
Australia 5.20%

i think you're going to be estimating, so i'd take those numbers i posted and start at either the top or bottom and then increase/decrease appropriately.

What are you tracing them from?

If you use google maps and keep the same zoom level, they should all come out the correct size.

I have no better suggestion to offer than what has already been offered. I just want to say that this sounds like an awesome and fun project, and something that I've thought about doing in my kids' playroom when they get to the right age. Good luck, and I'd love to see a picture of the final product.

Are you just going to do the silhouette of the continents or are you also going to show the boundaries of each country?
