DAVIE -- Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper underwent arthroscopic surgery on his troublesome right knee Thursday.
Dr. James Andrews, who performed the procedure in Birmingham, Ala., found the source of the pain in cartilage behind Culpepper's knee.
"I had a minor procedure today to remove some scar tissue that will help me in my rehabilitation," Culpepper said in a team-released statement. "I played through some pain in the first four games and didn't feel that I had an explosive burst, but the problem couldn't be detected by an MRI.
"The minor surgery solved that problem and will allow me to continue my progress. Now that this has been repaired, I'll be able to resume working as hard as I can in my rehabilitation program."
