Daunte came to Miami weighing 235 pounds. He lost weight and looks really good.So you can quit ur wondering. You have to wonder how well that knee will hold up under his 260 pound plus frame. He carrys alot more weight than most QB's and I wonder if that will play a factor at all?

I have been following FF for 10 years now, and I have never...NEVER...NEVER!!!!... heard that a players rehab was behind schedule.
Every single one has been above average.

This seems to be getting missed...on pace for 15 TDs for the entire year. :XPlus he was playing so bad last season even before he got hurt. A huge risk.

So Culpepper is only judged by his last 5 games (not for his career). Forget the paradigm shift that happened. Forget the injuries to the o-line, lack of running game, missing a favorite receiver that he had developed timing down with, oh and forget that they (Vikings) had a new offensive coordinator as well. Let's just judge him on the last five games. You guys really miss the point some times--it's like you can't see past the obvious and put very little thought to your points. I think the first year Culpepper be somewhere between 20-24 TDs (not what we're used to from him, but not terrible either). Then as he grows more comfortable with Miami's scheme, he'll probably rebound to about 25-30 TDs for 2-4 seasons. He's accurate, mobile, and athletic enough to still be a top 3 QB (fantasy wise). I think Kellen Winslow's rehab fell way behind schedule with a staff infection. Terrell Suggs ankle early last year was much slower to rehab than expected. I don't recall the details of Eric Johnson's foot, but I remember it being reported as behind schedule. I'm pretty sure Ray Lewis was expected back at one point last year and never made it. I think Mewelde Moore went into the doghouse because his ankle was slow to heal. Maybe there's extenuating circumstances to all these, but I think rehab is usually on or ahead of schedule, but it's not totally unheard of for one to fall behind.I have been following FF for 10 years now, and I have never...NEVER...NEVER!!!!... heard that a players rehab was behind schedule.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>You just don't know unless you're an MD looking at the guys MRI's and even then you don't know...because the MRI is only part of the story.
The best you've got to work with is historical precedent, and from that perspective it's not looking too good for an opening week start.

***OFFICIAL MIAMI DOLPHINS PLAYBOOK***1. Hand off to Brown.2. Bombs away to Chambers.3. Throw short to McMichael4. Repeat 1. and 2.Is this really forgotten so easily by LHUCKS and others:2004 MIN 16 379-548-4717-39-11 89-406-2
I took a big gamble in a salary cap keeper legue and traded Willis McGahee at $49 for DC $20, and Tatum Bell $32. I can't believe guys can dismiss DC because he had a rough stretch of games last year and he blew out his knee. I am putting all my eggs in the DC basket for a return to form by playoff time. I also have Chambers and think DC to Chambers can give me some unbelieveable games. I don't worry about the early part of the season, if you're guys aren't playing great down the strecth it won't matter waht you do weeks 1-8.Thanks for the info.ESPN reported last night on 4 Quarters that Culpepper is WAY AHEAD of schedule and that he will be ready for Training Camp! According to the reporter, Culpepper was doing pretty much everything already except for sharp cutting at this time. The Miami brass like the strength and accuracy of his throws!
Not only that, but he has surprised the Miami brass with his leadership. Apparently he has encouraged WR's, TE's and RB's to come to the practice facility outside of required times for drills, running and catch.
IMHO, this is great news!
I seem to be in the minority here, but I believe that Culpepper returns to the Top 5 in 2006!
