The Minneapolis-St.Paul Star Tribune reports that the Miami Dolphins have stated that quarterback Daunte Culpepper has made great strides in rehabilitating his injured knee and definitely will be ready to play in the season opener.

Big bump for Chambers and the Miami off IMO.

hardest thing to project for me right now are his rushing numbers
I doubt he does much on the ground. I'd say maybe 200 yds by years end, as his knee heals up. Early on he'll look to throw once he avoids the rush (if he can). This is good for Chambers. If Chambers can be a top 10 wr with the clowns he's had at QB, he should be money this year....and a lock for top 10 wr. Cpep throws a great deep ball....and a good jump ball. These are two of the things Chambers excels at catching.

Lets see it happen first. Announcing this at this time of year sounds like a plea for ticket sales.
depends, if it's just a coach talking to a reporter, it's not really an "announcement"

I don't think the 'phins are struggling badly enough for ticket sales to use C-Pepp returning as a ploy.

As a phin fan, however, I am very worried about C-Pepp rushing back before he is ready (ala Edge in 2002). I'd prefer that he participate as much as possible in the controlled environment of TC, play limited minutes in the early preseason and test it in controlled circumstances - I mean his knee was BLOWN UP less than a year before the season opener. That worries me.

Low , I'd guess...250-3td..I can't imagine him making it thru all 16 games with 3 blown ligaments in the same knee..

either he has the best sports doctor in history, or he is Superman.

or he won't be ready. In either case, Culpepper and Chambers don't make a good match. A guy who throws deep every other play paired with a guy who drops every other deep ball thrown his way....
