He had 25 carries and Minnesota has been good vs the run (except last week)... and I trust that Singletary will run him a lot in that game... give him 25 vs St. Louis and he is a great #2 for next week IMO

It was pretty clear that Minnesota's defense had heard the criticism of their first two games and their supposed inability to stop the run. Their run defense was outstanding in this game. There weren't many holes for Coffee today and the ones that did open closed up rather quickly. He got hit in the backfield on nearly half his runs, so you really couldn't expect much more. Gore wouldn't have done any better if he were in there.

-R.Grant - 26 for 99 (3.8ypc)
-Portis and Betts - 23 for 92 (4.0ypc)
-Julius Jones, Edge, Forsett - 33 for 164 (5.0ypc)
I can't see Coffee getting more than 100 yards, but maybe a 50/50 shot at a TD plus around 100 yards. I'll be starting him at RB3 in a 14 team league.
Also, i offered the Gore owner a trade offer of Coffee for Calvin Johnson. i know he won't take it, but i thought it was a nice "gesture," so to speak. hehehe....

Right, you could start just about anyone against the Swiss cheese Rams D and count on a touchdown. Coffee should percolate for 75 yards and a rushing TD. He looks like a solid RB2 this week. He might be relegated to your bench the week after against Atlanta. Then comes the bye and San Fran will want Gore to run against Houston that week.

Are you guys good friends? I could totally see doing that with a close buddy, but if it was just a general league-mate, it would seem toolish to me. Regarding Coffee, they don't have a lot of weapons to take the pressure off him, and with Boller possibly giving the rams a spark, they might really need him. I think he'll have every opportunity to be the workhorse.

Been keeping him stashed in both leagues ... with a full week taking reps wih first team, and a full gameplan for him ... vs. the Rams ... let's just say circumstances are definitely aligned for Coffee to get alot of work. If he can't deliver given these favorable factors ... I'd be very shocked ...

No, not friends. I'm aware its toolish... I just wanted to stick it to the guy because we were in talks before the season and I tried to send him Coffee for Norwood, but he refused. Now it's payback.
He was my Gore handcuff. I dropped him like a hot potato when I saw him play in a real game yesterday.

A real game vs Minn, and put in suddenly. I would wait a week and see how he does with a week of reps before cutting him. Not that he is going to be Gore V2.0, but he could definitely be a serviceable RB2 for a couple of weeks.

Struggling with gore out. I've got slow willie on the bench. But I'd have to drop him for coffee.
Parker's got good match ups coming. SD/DET/CLE... Plus I need him in week 9 for my other bye (Denver).

Not definitively. One of the Niners' beat writers suggested that the team might hold him out of the next two games, with Gore returning against the Texans.
If you have a roster spot there is no reason not to pick up the starting RB on a good, run-first team. Especially one that wouldn't have to share carries.Dropping him after the Gore injury would, in my opinion, qualify as the worst move of the fantasy year. You would trade him to someone else.He should be one of the biggest adds of the week. My concern will be much of my waiver budget should I spend given that I have Gore.

I was more so inferring that Coffee is not good, the Rams defense just may be worse. I thought they'd be improved this season, but if the first 3 weeks are any indication they're just as bad as they have been for a while now.I want to amend my original post though, another reason to pick him up - if you're not the Gore owner and have greater priority than him. Pick him up, wait for Coffee to have a good game this week, and then make the Gore owner pony up for the cuff in a 2 for 1 type deal that improves your team at a position of weakness.
How is it payback by you offering him a ######ed offer?.. Even if I was the Gore owner- I would care less if I had Cal Johnson and needed to find a fill in Rb for a couple weeks, while you had Coffee- who might be startable 1 time... He's still in a better position than you..
This is the trading version of smack talk. Neither team would expect the offer to be accepted. I don't have a problem with it. I might throw a
in the comments of the offer just to make it clear you weren't really serious and only taking a jab at them. Some people are just to serious to have a good time at this hobby.
