Current 2008 Draft order..... (1 Viewer)

1. Miami Dolphins - Glen Dorsey2. St. Louis Rams - Jake Long3. Atlanta Falcons - Darren McFadden4. Oakland Raiders - Chris Long5. Kansas City Chiefs - Ryan Clady (Ellis wouldn't be bad either)
I'm on board w/ this, though J.Richardson (late-round rook) has looked pretty good for Oakland and I see them going Ellis, but to have Howie's son would be really cool.I'm thinking that Miami could reallly shake things up. If they go w/ J.Long then...1. Miami - Jake Long2. St. Louis - Dorsey (could move Carriker back to DE)/C.Long3. Atlanta - Glen Dorsey/McFadden/Brohm (C.Long too, but the other spots mean too much)4. Oakland - McFadden/Long/Ellis/Clady5. K.C. - Clady/Brohm/EllisI think the Rams have the most to gain by trading out of that spot if Miami goes with J.Long as none of the other top pick make as much sense for them. I listed the players in order of talent vs. team need by my opinion. Things could reallly shake up if J.Long is the #1 pick. R.Gallery is far enough removed now for a top T to go 1st.

I certainly wouldn't rule out the Raiders having discussions with the Dolphins. Davis and Tuna are friends, and Dorsey is a need.

But so is RE, and man, Chris Long just makes way too much sense. I'm actually wondering why he isn't being discussed for the top spot. Also, the Raiders don't have a 3rd round pick, so while I think they could put together a package, I think it's unlikely. I think they'll be able to find a player they like at #4.

In a worst case scenario, with Dorsey and Long both gone, at that point I'd like Al to call his other GB Jerry Jones, to maybe try and get him to move up for Run DMC.

1. Miami Dolphins - Glen Dorsey

2. St. Louis Rams - Jake Long

3. Atlanta Falcons - Darren McFadden

4. Kansas City Chiefs - Chris Long

5. Oakland Raiders - Sedrick Ellis
Andy, any chance you could also provide your thought on how well these players will do with the teams you think will draft them? For example (yes, it's hypothetical), if the Patriots had the #1 overall pick, would Glenn Dorsey really be the best pick for the Pats as they run a 3-4 and already have Wilfork at the nose. Another example, if the Falcons had a horrifically bad OL, would taking McFadden make a lot of sense?
I'm putting together a complete mock draft with commentary that will be available later this week. I'm currently working on the Lions pick. It won't be a receiver.Given your examples ;) - Dorsey will fit in any scheme, and since all three of the Patriots 3-4 front liners will be up for contract in the next two years, he'd be a decent selection, as would Sedrick Ellis. I've waffled a bit on McFadden and won't be having him go to the Falcons, but instead to the Patriots where he'd be a ridiculous 1/2 combo with Maroney.
Sounds great!

If they passed on a two-way RE, who also happens to be Howie's son, because of Jay Richardson, I might start shopping for Kansas City fan gear. ;) Richardson has looked decent, but I think long term, he's a lot closer to Bobby Hamilton that Bruce Smith.

In any case, the Raiders should definitely be able to get an impact player at a position of need, be it D-line or perhaps even RB. I'm hoping Chris Long.

Where is all this talk about the BC QB saying he wont play for Atlanta?

Jets will have a tough decision to make at #6 if he is sitting there...I would trade down to a team that is hot for a QB unless they fix that putrid OL in Fa.

It would only be conceivable for the Falcons to take McFadden on Blank needing the "box office attraction". Cooler heads will prevail hopefully (Dunn wants another year and Norwood finished with the highest ypc in the NFL this year behind the worst line in football), and a slew of Olinemen will win out and a project/ sleeper QB with one of the 2 second round picks.

A PFT link explaining what NFLN is saying:

COIN FLIP TOURNEY WILL DETERMINE PICKS THREE THROUGH FIVE

Per Adam Schefter of NFL Network, the league has unveiled the 2008 draft order, and there's a clusterfudge for the third pick.

Four teams -- the Falcons, Raiders, Chiefs, and Jets -- have 4-12 records.

The Jets fell out of the mix first, because their strength of schedule was 0.523, based on the fact that the Jets' opponents were a combined 134-122 on the season.

The Falcons, Raiders, and Chiefs had identical strength of schedule -- 0.516, based on a combined opponents' record of 132-124. S

Because the Raiders finished fourth in the AFC West behind the Chiefs (due to their record in common games), the Raiders will pick higher than the Chiefs. So the Falcons and Raiders will flip first. If the Raiders lose the toss, the Falcons will draft third, the Raiders will draft fourth, and the Chiefs will draft fifth.

If the Raiders win the toss, they'll draft third and then the Falcons and the Chiefs will have a coin toss for the fourth pick.
