This is horrific. With already poor infrastructure and services, this type of disaster is amplified.

City of half million people 90% destroyed. Heartbreaking.

my geography is terrible. i was wondering what happened to the tsunami alert system that went in after the tsunami in the Indian Ocean that killed a quarter million people.

sadly it would seem Africa likely does not have an equivalent system.
