D.J. Hackett Update (1 Viewer)

From RotoWorld:

The Seahawks are targeting October 28 as a possible date for D.J. Hackett (high ankle sprain) to resume practicing. That is Seattle's bye week.

That's over a month from now. Shallow leaguers who've held on can cut bait if better players are available. Nate Burleson hasn't been lighting it up, but Hackett is uncertain to regain his starting job once he's back.

An entire month still... dang.

Thats being very cautious and is a smart stance by Seattle.

Im still hoding him in my big redraft leagues and hoping to scoop him in FA in some others a week or two before he returns. Sneaky value.

A month until he practices... that doesn't even mean he'll play.

Sneaky value?More like sneaky lump of coal. The time to drop this guy was week 1.

I think he could put up some numbers when he comes back. He is a VERY talented WR and Burleson drives folks crazy with his drops, especially his HC. He made up for it last week but after he caused two picks by not catching the ball and dropped a TD, and he won't always get a chance to make up for it. . And Hackett just doesn't do that. To my knowledge he had one drop last year and 1 of the type of drop Nate had in the endzone. Stupid rule where you have to keep possession after you're down. But Hackett doesn't drop it. So if you have the space, keep him or grab him around their bye. He helped a lot of people in their playoff races last year.

If you want to bu super sneaky, keep an eye on Obumanu who should play this week. He looked better even than Burleson in preseason. And with 4 WRs healthy they will run their 4WR package.

There is also some minor rumblings about giving Wallace some plays, just a few. And it's not coming from Holmgren either, just stirrings.

Not in a big league with big rosters. In the smaller leagues I dont have 'em. And he shouldnt be on a roster... yet.

It seems as if Seattle and Hackett understand the time frame of returning from a high ankle sprain. Too many times it seems players come back after 2 or 3 weeks and they're never close to 100% for the entire season.

A good stash on the IR if you have one. He could be a good value in larger leagues down the line. Looking at his stats the last half of last season, I would be more than happy with that same production for a WR#3.
