D. Jackson to sit out all of training camp? (1 Viewer)

Didn't see a thread or anything on the blogger yet.

(Rotoworld) Darrell Jackson will rest his knee as much as possible in training camp.Impact: Jackson had surgery on the knee in March and did not participate in any pre-camp work. Never much of a practice player because of injuries anyways, he'll likely miss some or all of training camp. Coming off a season of which he missed ten games, Jackson appears a high-risk fantasy pick in 2006.
Not a lot of meat here so I doubt it affects my ranking much. However, it still bears watching throughout preseason.Edit: Doesn't affect my rankings much "for now" is what I mean.

Start spreading the news.....this will only help those who are high on him be able to land him for even cheaper in our drafts this year!

I love this news....

It seems Darrell Jackson can do no wrong. News comes out that he is definately not 100% with his injury, and will be missing TC and missing gellng time with Hasselbeck, yet people are putting positive spins on this. :lmao:

Darrell Jackson can do no wrong on this board.

Without Jackson at 100%, I don't see how the Seahawks can win a game!

I am one of maybe a few owners that am really concerned about the DJax news and I feel he is really over rated right now. Just my opinion but currently I will not put him in my top 20 WR and let someone else draft him.

 2001, 2003 & 2004 he played all 16 games.

For sake of argument lets use current FBG projections which have the #20 guy Derrick Mason at 1046 yards and 6 TD.In 2004 & 2005 (Jackson's last 2 healthy seasons) he has averaged 1150 yards and 8 TD. Dropping him down by 100 yards and a couple of scores on the season is not a huge drop for a guy who missed half of last year and has a lot of negative injury buzz. Really by dropping him I would be settling for the next guy and again if you use FBG projections I would have to settle for Plaxico Burress or Santana Moss because I passed on DJax. Yes, I'll do that.

 Is he really that overvalued? I must not have noticed.

draftsharks was talking down D-Jack all summer, i actually picked up Nate Burlson in rd 15 of my dynasty draft - Sweet beans! I want Engram too but the owner with him won't trade.

that is the source for the rotoworld blurb...

it is purely speculation on the part of the USA Today....there is no basis presented for their comment

—Prepare for life without Darrell Jackson. The veteran receiver plans to rest his surgically repaired knee as much as possible during camp. There's a chance Jackson will return to form and stay on the field enough to be a factor all season, but Seattle needs to start preparing itself for life without him.

Jackson missed 10 games last season. He has never been much of a practice player, often because of injuries. If Jackson misses time against this season, the Seahawks won't have Joe Jurevicius to catch 10 touchdown passes in his absence.

Nate Burleson is looking better and better, that's for sure.
Gave him a big money deal for a reason........ Either Holmgren said f*&$ it cuz he's out of there in a year or because DJ has not or will not be the same after this latest injury. Either way, NB value going up.

Here are the results from 2005 in games Jackson didn't play.St Louis W 37-31

Houston W 42-10

Dallas W 13-10

Arizona W 33-19

St Louis W 31-16

San Francisco W 27-25

New York Giants W 24-21

Philadelphia W 42-0

San Francisco W 41-3

Green Bay L 23-17

If Jackson is part time, what's the impact on SA and Hass?

As was the case last year, SA will likely be the go to guy and predictions of his slipping to #3 (or #4) in the RB rankings may be premature.

Likewise, is Hass overrated with a questionable DJax and no Jurevicius?
