I LOVE Flacco this year. I think he really turns into a viable fantasy starter by year's end and comes close to 3800 yds and 20 tds. The Raven's, IMO, are going to open things up a little this year with Rice as the RB. I think they held Flacco down a little and tried to be conservative with him last year. He's looked great in preseason, and Mason is the unquestioned #1 WR there.

Mason isn't getting any younger, but still put up over 1000 yds and had 5 tds last year on a team that ran the ball more than any other team in the league (correct me if I'm wrong). With the playbook opening up, what kind of numbers do you expect from him this year?

I would guess another 100-200 yds receiving and maybe 1-2 more tds...but that puts him up near the top 15 in the league. Am I crazy for thinking he could end up there?

He also has a great matchup this week vs the Chiefs, so he could come out very strong. 100 yd and 1 td is my guess.

He caught a lot of balls last year. If anything I think he is due somewhat of a decline, particularly with the injuries and the (non)-retirement.

I like Flacco also but I just dont see the Ravens opening it up that much. I just dont think they will need to with that defense.

As for Mason, if he stays healthy, I see no reason that he cant put up very similar #s to last year. Ravens seriously need to upgrade this position very soon though.

You are delusional to think Mason has top-15 potential.

I'd say his upside is WR25ish, downside is WR40ish. Very little risk, but not a high ceiling.

I think they need to be able to open it up to become a Super Bowl contendor. Sure, they can compete with most teams with their current Off approach, but when they face the Pats or Colts, they will need to be able to keep up...so changing to a more balanced team is beneficial IMO.

He finished #21 last year in NON PPR leagues. How am I delusional to think he could raise his production 6 spots in Flacco's 2nd year?

That's pretty close to what I thought. My guess was his upside is about #20 overall (similar to last year) my theory is that the QB tossing him the ball will be better than last year even if Mason has lost a half a step. My thought is that Flacco's learning curve is going up at least as fast as Masons age curve is going down and they will roughly balance each other out. His downside is probably around 35-40 overall like you said.of course my estimate isnt a lot different from yours at the end of the day as the difference between #20 and #25 is likely 100 yards. there is the potential for mason to improve from last year too. I wouldnt bet on it, but if Mason stays about the same as last year skill wise, and Flacco improves in a big way, you may see him have a career season.I peg the odds of this happening at less than 10 %, but feel the possibility is there and that that possibility should be acknowledged.
