D Rhodes to Oakland Per Sirius (1 Viewer)

Free agent RB Dominic Rhodes reached agreement Friday morning on a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Oakland Raiders.
Schefter says the same thing. LINKI'm not too high on the move.

waters down both he and Jordan's value. Considering the horrible state of the team these guys will have very little value.

Damn. He went to fantasy hell. His small frame will never hold up to the beating he'll take getting flattened 4 yards in the backfield everytime he gets the ball.

Drop him waaaaaay down.

Am I ever glad I dumped jordan from my dynasty team...he's done.
Still got him unfortunately. Not too good, as Rhodes is going to give him competition for the starting gig. Perhaps even more importantly, the new coaching regime brought in Rhodes, while Jordan/Fargas are holdovers.

ya, it looks like he may have a role similar to last year on a MUCH worse team. Take his #'s from last year and multiply by .8.

Would not have minded him in Green Bay to RBBC with Morencey (from an NFL side of course, not a fantasy side)

Perfect example of a guy getting his ring and then going wherever the $$ is highest, with absolutley no regard for the chances of future individual or team success.

any chance Jordan gets traded? I mean they just restructured him, and Rhodes wanted to be a starter? This is confusing.

I don't really blame Rhodes, he has been pretty underpaid throughout his career. He has a Super Bowl ring, and now he is making some $$$. And who knows how the Raiders will be in year 2. Teams can turn around. Look at the Saints last year, or the Rams during their Super Bowl year. And people told Randy johnson he was a fool for taking the money in Arizona.

This is likely his only chance in his career that he will be able to cash in. He's an average RB. I can't blame him for making the move, $3 mill is more than I thought he'd get.

Not to Hi-jack, but I have heard rumors of Bledsoe to Oakland recently.
Re-hijackSeems reminiscent of Tennessee inexplicably bringing in Collins last year -Bledsoe could be a care taker for the first part of the season while Russell/Quinn get a little more prep before being thrown to the wolves.

well that sucks, I was hoping Jordan would have some value going into the year becuase he was at least a full time running back, now its RBBC.

I'd do the same thing if I were him. He's an average RB, he's not Edge. He's got to get paid when he can, because it could be his last payday, you never know.

Aren't they too similar to be a true RBBC? Is it a chance Rhodes will be a simple backup to Jordan and only grab 5-10 carries per game. Is he considered to be a better receiver than Jordan?

I'd say his receiving skills are on a par with Jordan's. Jordan is not that outstanding of a receiver out of the backfield. His 05 numbers have misled people into thinking this. He also led the league in the drops that year. That was a statistical aberration and not an indication of exceptional receiving ability on Jordan's part.

Any chance Jordan gets dropped/traded now? I think it's a little early to assume RBBC.

As for Bledsoe to the Raiders, that would be a horrible fit. He can't throw to the running back, can't handle the blitz up the middle, and isn't the best with quick short passes, either. The only thing he has going for him in the Raiders offense is that he can get hit again and again and almost never get hurt, which would admittedly be important for his role there.

That's an odd place to end up. I'm a little surprised the market wasn't better for him.

Who is the best FA left? Brown? Duckett?

This REALLY hurts my dynasty team. Rhodes was my #2 RB. I can't believe this, but I'm hanging my hopes on Chris Brown now (ouch, hope there's a good RB in next year's rookie draft at the 1.01:)

signed,

Dynasty team with REALLY weak RB corps

Does not matter much who is the RB or if there is a RBBC in Oakland if they do not do something with the line. Gallery has vastly under achieved and the rest of the line never put it together for a whole series let alone a whole game last year.

It prolly would've been until his DUIIMO this is a great time to get jordan...he was considered as one of if not the best backup rb when he was in ny behind curtis martin and when he finally got a chance to be a starter for someone he responded with nearly 1,600 yards of total offense. Now after an injury plagued season and the addition of a rb who's been nothing but the 1-B rb for his entire career jordan is done?

More good news for dynasty 1.01 rookie pick holders.

As for Jordan, he was my 1st round pick in a dynasty draft last season. I've been trying to move him for something decent this off-season riding the very small wave of optimism that came with Art Shell's firing - nothing really happened. I guess I should've tried harder.

The best thing, IMO, is that if you have him, hold him - the chances that he rebounds are worth much more than what you're likely to get in a trade after this signing. If you don't have him, stay away - do not mistake this as a "buy low" opportunity.

That 1600 yd. season was the exception, not the rule. The Oakland RB situation is the yuck. Stay away. :goodposting:

He will not see the second year money, as he isn't a good RB. Of this, I am 100% sure.
I think he's decent, but I can definitely sense his weaknesses being shown when he's not running behind Manning (and behind a poor OL).He and Jordan are probably one-year fill-ins until the Raiders get their RB of the future next year.
