D/ST Rankings (1 Viewer)

The Ref

*I know that D/ST rankings can change greatly with rules.*

Without giving up info for free, I'll just say that the bears seem very high considering how many points they have given up so far this year, and the Seahawks seem low considering they are playing the lowly rams this week.

How are the rankings figured for D/ST and what do you think about them this week?

IMO, the team defense rankings suffer from two problems:

1) Don't account sufficiently for the strength/weakness of the opponent (more in the areas of sacks/turnovers than in points/yards).

2) Overstate TDs/FRs for the top defenses. Those things are largely random. (Hester return TDs may the exception to this.)

Don't get me wrong, the FBG projections are the best out there, but I tend to compensate for these two considerations when I pick my defense each week.

I agree re: the Bears (point 2) and the Seahawks (point 1) this week.

I wish they would rank D/ST and Team Defense seperately.

I have the Bears in a league where I get nothing for kick/punt return tds

This may be why. Last week they had Seattle as the number 2 defense on their cheetsheets and New Orleans took it to them.
