Daily league platoons (1 Viewer)

I extract a lot of value by utilizing platoons in my daily lineup leagues. Roster both and choose starter based on opposing pitcher. Started getting draft plan together and may have figured out a deep league favorite. Drew Stubbs and Corey Dickerson. Good chance of them hitting lead off. Amanufactured 20/20 season wwith good run counts and passable avg seems very reasonable.

I'll post others as I come across them.

Werth and mclouth is interesting. Probably not a straight platoon so you really need to check everyday they face a righty, but mclouth also serves as a natural cuff whenever werth suffers the inevitable injury. I'll bet mclouth bats first or second the days he does start.

I always seem to end up using Rajei Davis in a platoon after he starts slow, gets dropped, and then works his way back into the lineup and has a 15 steal month.

It's cool if a real-life platoon falls to you but I'm not sure it's worth reaching a round early or paying $2 more to roster both partners. It depends on your format obviously.

I prefer it because it's easier to manage day to day but I am not going to pick up Chris young to pair with Eric young if Colby rasmus is available.

I'm really falling for this Dickerson Stubbs platoon. Small sample size but Dickerson's triple slash at home and vs righties 300/370/633 and 278/326/494 with two sb. Stubbs vs lefties last year 266/361/357 with six sb and 2012 283/324/464 with six sb.

A 280 bat can be manufactured here, probably ten or so steals (leading off may mean more), twenty or so bombs, eighty to ninety runs. Jason Heyward like numbers for end of draft prices. They will be prone to being pinch hit, but that's why they are available outside of the top 300. I could see doing this with my util position in a couple of leagues. Need bench space obviously.

Cubs situation is interesting too. Going to be messy, but if I end up with Schierholtz then Lake and Ruggiano will be on my radar. Schierholtz was 262/300/499 with twenty bombs and six sb vs righties. Lake had a small sample, but it matched his minors profile vs lefties. 377/415/541 with a couple of bombs and a couple of bags, stole a lot in the minors so there is upside for more. Not nearly as high on Ruggiano, but if Lake is not an option 248/329/504 with eight bombs and five bags isn't bad.

If they are in the middle of the order as I think they will then 70/23/80/12/275 with Lake looks reasonable, 70/25/85/12/255 with Ruggiano. Upside for more bags if Lake runs like he did in the minors. Same pinch hitting issue as the Colorado duo, but those are Cespedes like numbers with Pence or Werth like upside.
