Dallas Backfield - Can you start any of them with confidence? (1 Viewer)

Barber says he's healthy . . . I am skeptical . . .

They say Jones is ready . . .

Healthy Choice is the only one we KNOW is ready to roll . . .

The Cowboys are at or near the lead in rushing . . . yet HOW can you risk starting one?

------------

I have Barber and Choice and I feel like I have neither . . .

I'm starting Barber. Lots of money tied up in him and he is a warrior. I don't think Jones will be relevant this week. Unless Barber pulls himself out Choice will be a COP back.

I read earlier that Barber has a fractured left thumb...

In addition to his strained quad, Barber is also dealing with a fractured left thumb that requires a small cast, the Cowboys' official site reports. Despite the injuries, he is expected to start Sunday against the Falcons.Recommendation: The thumb injury could give Barber some trouble carrying the ball with his left hand, which is where the ball should be held on runs to the left side of the field. Aside from being at a slightly increased risk for fumbles, Barber should be operating with few limitations this week.(Rotowire.com)
Based on that--I'm not sure why they would start MBIII. A fractured thumb.. how will he hold the ball??? Nutso if you ask me..its not the RB's or injuries that screw us over--its DAL coaches.. who can't make a rational decision.... MBIII should sit and heal up. Start Choice. If F Jones can really run with that brace on his leg--there are your two RB's... Instead they will start MBIII. He might or might (probably) not do well. So they'll insert Choice... meaning neither has any value because its a crap shoot who does what. Pathetic.

I'm in a standard scoring league and always start Barber..he's their goalline RB and good at it.

barber is definitely a #2 RB or flex play
This is what I'm talking about - look at his KC game . . . I dont think he gave you RB2 points . . .
I agree--53 yards is not RB2 in my league... vs. DEN wk 4 it was supposed to be T Choice as the #1 back... MBIII was supposed to be limited. Instead MBIII out performs Choice and is the guy at the end of the game (while on my bench). Choice did ok but not great. vs KC wk 5 you'd think MBIII is good to go and would be the man. Instead he gets 53 yards and T Choice gets 92 and a TD and is by far the more effective back. So what's the deal this week? If MBIII didn't have the fractured thumb I'd be ok with him coming off the bye week of rest... but add in the thumb and it could really limit his effectiveness. I'm not sure how jhe carries with a fractured thumb or cast on it... seems like that's how you'd hold onto the ball.... and if he fumbles a time or two you know T Choice will be put in in a heartbeat... but its all up in the air... :wall:

what he said . . .

What about Jones - is anyone bold enough to start him tomorrow???
in a league where we have only 3 total positions on our bench, i finally dropped jones. the injury aside, i just haven't seen wade make him the focal point that he keeps saying. with barber and choice, i just don't see enough touches to go around to make jones a confident starter. barber will certainly get the GL opportunities and the 4th quarter run out the clock touches too. choice will be used to give either jones or barber a breather...i can see it where barber is the work horse and jones and choice are used for a series. if that series happens to go to the red zone, then these guys could benefit...i cut my losses...

Im starting Barber with total confidence. He'll get a minimum of 15 carries, will catch a few passes, and is the unquestioned goal line back

All will play-that is fact. IMO all 3 will get equal playing time. Likely 8-10 touches each. If you have to start 1 of this group - start Barber-but none are good options this week. Look elsewhere.

so you're starting him with confidence tomorrow???
i have him in a dynasty league and i feel i have better options- LT, Sjax and Gore. But If i had to start him i would with confident( Atl is ranked like 24th against the run). Dallas has a very good run blocking O line and Barber has a nose for the end zone

Once Jones is fully recovered, Choice is the clear odd-man out.
why :scared:
Choice has produced the best when he has been given the opportunities. I haven't seen too many Dallas games. Are they legit or just scrub yards?
Actually, Felix has been by far the most productive on a per touch basis. Choice has been better than Barber since the thigh injury. With Felix' knee injury, will Choice similarly be better? Thats the question of the week.
