Dallas Defense (1 Viewer)

Anyone kicking Dallas to the curb after a bad showing with TB last week and getting crushed this week vs Giants?? Or is their still hope to get a sack in 2009?

If I could right now I would. I mean, I would literally drop them before this game was over and forego any whopping point they could muster. They are beyond brutal...

I agree they have not looked good. They started pretty slow last year as well. Both TB and DAL have pretty good offensive lines, NYG may have the best one in teh league, and the Cowboys defense is all about pressure. They will still get a ton of sacks. In these first two games they have gotten the pressure and their secondary has never really been any good and it is isn't. It all depends on your scoring.

I thought it impossible for any DST to get a total of 2 points after 2 weeks, going against TB and Eli Manning. Words cannot describe how badly DAL's defense blows.

Nice win Giants.

I have them in an incredibly deep league where there's pretty much nothing on the wire (probably KC, maybe Cincy, St. Louis... that's probably it). Obviously I'm holding on. My one consolation is that the Dallas offense won't usually screw them over so badly (7 of NY's points were on an INT return, another 7 came on a 28 yard TD "drive", another 3 came on an 18 yard "drive" for a 28-yard FG attempt). Sure, they still looked plenty bad, but I can really only blame them for 16 of the 33 points allowed.

Points allowed is the lesser problem. through two games the zero sacks and zero turnovers suggest serious issues for the Cowboys.

Depends on the scoring system. In my league, points allowed is the #1 fantasy stat (all defenses start out with 20 points, and then lose 1 point for every point allowed). With that said... Demarcus Ware is still Demarcus Ware. Sacks and turnovers will come eventually. I'd be more concerned about Dallas's scoring defense going forward than their big plays.

Two words: Jake Delhomme
ATL didn't do much to him today. I dropped the Boys for ATL because I thought "Delhomme" and they did squat against him ...and they are much faster than Dallas. I couldn't recommend picking up Dallas to anyone at this point.

I am probably mixing real NFL versus FF a bit, but those plays are what gets the defense off the field so they don't allow points. No matter how you slice it, the Cowboys have allowed over 400 yards offense to Tampa and New york who two weeks ago had more questions about the WRs than answers. No reason for me to think that they are startable until that unit gets sacks, turnovers, or does not allow mediocore offenses to run up points.

They should be sent to the waiver wire immediately as long as there's any viable alternative. The D-line and the backers are, as usual, good to great and average to above average, respectively. But that secondary . . . it's unspeakable. I can only imagine at all the Eagles, Skins, and Giants fans sitting there cackling about Jerry forking out $1.1 billion for a stadium and yet not doping out that Newman + three stiffs does not a defensive backfield make. Hamlin is done and there have to be 30 street free agents available tomorrow who can cover and tackle better than Orlando Scandrick.

Anyway, drop at all costs. I'm thinking of cutting bait on Ware in IDP, well, benching him, at least.
