So they get downgraded because their only opponent to date sucked? I mean...the Rams are so bad that a 38-3 whooping just wasn't good enough to declare the Eagles good? And NO national magazine has picked Philly as a SB contender, have they?Seriously, this should be a great game. The Vegas line is out of whack because EVERYBODY has been gushing over the boys all summer. The truth is that the Eagles match up extremely well and anybody expecting a blowout is deluding themselves.The Cowboys might well win this game, but I take "punch in the mouth" when you're the HOME favorite to mean a blowout...and I can't see that. This is simple. If the Eagles can cover the tight end, which they could not do against the Rams, they have a decent chance of winning. If they can't, they don't.

My goodness! As a Cowboy fan.....I HATE these threads.
We won't be punching anyone or thing in the mouth. We will play Football. I like our chances at home, however to expect an easy game is silly. Philly likely will be the toughest opponet we play this year.

Yes but we do know that there are penty of Cowboy Fans that are football fans too. It is too bad you are in the minority. It all comes with the tag of being America's Team. It is a cross every "real" Cowboy Fan has to carry. It should be a good game on Monday and the best team will win.

Yes and No. You don't get downgraded beating the Rams 38-3, you get an upgrade. I think every person that knows anything about football has given Philly an upgrade in all facets of their game after week 1, so I'm not sure how you think they got downgraded.However, you do have to look at the quality of opponent and where you played to determine how much of an upgrade is fair to warrant.The Atlanta Falcons walked all over the Lions.....is it fair to put the Falcons in the elite class or should we consider that they played the Lions in Atlanta? Philly has looked solid in preseason and they played very well at home in Week 1. There is no doubt in my mind that Philly could win this game, but the favorite to win the game should be the Dallas Cowboys.I wish I didn't have to talk about the Dallas/Philly game in a thread that's titled Dallas will punch Philly in the Mouth but we see enough threads that repeat topics I figured I'd chime in early in the week.

Fair enough (from you at least!) If someone wasn't very high on Philly to start with, then it's certainly fair to favor Dallas. Can't blame ANYONE for favoring big D at home. I'm simply trying to point out that predictions of a blowout (punching them in the mouth) are unreasonable. There are some good reasons to think Philly could win this game outright that go beyond a good week 1 performance.
