Dallas is favored by 3 points in the opening line. Despite their loss last week, the Giants clinched the division as well as a first round bye. They still need to play for home field throughout. Dallas is currently the 6th seed, or last wildcard spot, in the NFC due to a momentary tie-breaker advantage over the Falcons. They have no margin for error or their season is likely over.
The four previous games saw the teams split 2-2, but the NYG winning the last 2, including the playoffs last year. In the earlier game this year, the Giants stomped Dallas 35-14 and rolled their way to 200 yards rushing. Dallas had all of 183 total yards as the dynamic duo of Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger took the helm for the injured Romo. It was not Eli's best game, however as he threw a pick-6 to Cowboy corner, Mike Jenkins and also fumbled twice on sacks. Eli was sacked 4 times overall, one of his highest totals of the season.
In the playoff game last year, NYG won 21-17 despite a yardage dis-advantage of 336 to 230 and a time-of-possession disadvantage of 23:30 to 36:30. The Gmen played a very clean game with no turnovers and only 3 penalties for 25 yards. Dallas, in their typical undisciplined fashion, had a stunning 11 penalties and 1 turnover. A very costly turnover as Romo threw a pick in the endzone as Dallas was driving for a hopeful winning score in the last minute of play.
So what happens next on this upcoming Sunday? Does Eli do his best to give away the game much like he did earlier this season in the Meadowlands? Do the G-men controll the clock and run all over Dallas again? Does Romo throw another game-losing pick in the final moments?
