Dan LeFevour -QB- Central Michigan (1 Viewer)

Lol, no responses buddy?

I really like LeFevour, cannon for an arm, excellent mobility, understands the spread offense, etc...

Seems to be a tad bit inaccurate on some routes, but he is only 19. I don't think first round in '09/'10 is out of the question.

I have been following him all year ... College Fantasy is GREAT ..!!!!

he definetly is a NFL Prospect .... might be the 2nd best Soph at the QB position/

Anytime a kid wins conference offensive player of the year as a soph, you take notice, especially when its a QB in the MAC. You also have to love that he'll have been a starter for his whole career - the famous QB formula values number of college starts greatly. You also have to like that he started out at 63% accuracy as a frosh and bumped that to over 66% this year. Lefevour faced three big six conference programs this year - Kansas, Clemson, and Purdue - he had a bad game vs. Kansas, better games vs. Clemson and Purdue, but he couldn't even keep his team in the game in the first half - of course Big Ben got blown out in his one game vs. a big six opponent in his junior (and final year). I havent gotten to watch too much of Lefevour, but he certainly seemed mobile and sturdy enough, and he has a quick mind and good mechanics. I wouldn't put him above Tebow or Stafford, but I cant think of another soph QB I would definitely put ahead of him.

In yesterdays game he became only the second QB in history to throw for over 3000 yards and run for over 1000 yards in the same season joining Vince Young. And he is only a soph. Kid has some wheels too.

He is the best QB in the state and he leads the Best Team in the State!

He should be considered among the top 5 QB's in the Nation. He gets a lot of pub on the local sports radio shows but not nearly as much as he should. ESPN would be all over his story if wasnt in the MAC.

Haven't seen much chatter about it, but last night LeFevour broke the all-time record for most combined TDs (Passing, Receiving and Rushing) with set by Hawaii’s Colt Brennan in 2007 and matched by Texas Tech’s Graham Harrell in 2008. He now has 101 passing TDs (breaking Chad Pennington's MAC record) and 148 overall.

Florida’s Tim Tebow ranks second among active players with 140 TDs entering the SEC championship game Saturday against Alabama.

I've been singing the praises of Lefevour since that sophomore season where he almost became a member of the 20/20 club.

I love the way he can keep plays alive with his feet. He keeps his eyes downfield, and is looking for the big play when he's flushed from the pocket. If he exhausts his reads he has enough athletic ability to pick up good yardage with his feet.

LeFevour is not afraid to challenge the edges of a defense, and even though he doesn't have the strongest arm he does throw with good velocity. His passes are also very catchable and he does a good job placing them in just the right spot. On end zone throws he can toss it with touch and will put the ball where only his guy can get it.

The best attribute about LeFevour IMHO is his leadership ability. He can rally his team, and is a fiery leader. He has a "go for the throat" mentality and his teammates must feel they are never out of a game with LeFevour under center.

I've been waiting a long time for him to turn pro, and am anxious to see him at one of the All Star games I attend in January. I was happy to see him come back for his senior season, after a disappointing junior year.

Anyone think this guy is worth a shot in a rookie draft? He would be sitting on my bench for a while but do you think he might have a future as a starter in the NFL? He is in Chicago. But, I liked what I saw in college from him.

Anything can happen. Cutler ran himself out of Denver pretty quickly.

I do. But late. I grabbed him to put behind Peyton/Henne.

He's got a perfect skill set for a Martz offense, we'll see how he looks after Martz rebuilds his game. LeFevour was one of my favorite quarterbacks in this draft class, and I believe he could be the next good QB to come from the sixth-round.

 agreed completely. Love him as a late round pick or cheap auction value.ETA: I like Skelton a little better, but part of that is simply not liking Leinart.

Injuries happen so the answer would be null because that applies everywhere, add the fact that Cutler has the special ability to suck it up bad enough and LeF is someone I would want to roster if given enough roster spots. I picked him up in the 6th round of a 53 man roster/12 team league, just depends on how deep your league is.

I like him, but being a professor at CMU I am probably biased.

My worry about him in the NFL is that he has happy feet...likes to take off. Works better in college than the NFL.

Really? I thought LeFevour was a very effective scrambler and rusher. I don't imagine Martz wants his QBs to move out of the pocket so those skills will be wasted in Martz's scheme.

Except in the deepest of deep leagues I'd let him simmer on waivers for now, but if he has a great preseason I'd snatch him up.

I think he's the 2nd best QB in this draft class and will get a shot at some point (similar p.o.v. on Nate Davis), but his opportunity is a long, long ways away. Tough to eat a roster spot on someone who may not get a shot for 2-3+ years.

quick decision making and underneath routes.as the CMU prof said, LeFevour does need to exhaust all options before taking off to run.

Martz QB's tend to take a pounding and this kid can scramble. So I think that is what they were referring to. He has the ability to stay healthy long enough to learn what Martz can teach. The only question is will he even be on the field to learn anything?

Any thoughts on him in Cincy? Granted, getting cut by the Bears is a bad sign but as far as situation is concerned, Cincy seems ideal in many ways. Not the least of which is (IMO) Palmer probably not having more than a couple years left unless Jesus comes back to bless his arm.

I would also like to hear thoughts on him. I'm considering him in one of my deep dynasty leagues and I always liked his poise and leadership in college..thanks...

I'm trying to find roster room to stash him, but it will probably wait until next year or at least late this season (depends how Carson's playing). If Carson doesn't get his stuff together this year I could see a short leash next season if LeFevour has a good camp. ETA's more likely beyond 2011, but there's a better shot at a quicker ascent in Cincy than there was in Chicago.

weak arm? funny this is coming up AFTER a few analysis (a day ago) have been made for him being cut in Chicago. where were they two days ago? a week ago? a monht ago? three yrs ago?

he looked pretty good a week or so ago in the pre-season game. Natti's gain IMO.

His deep ball has a tendency to float, that's not new news for those who have followed LeFevour. If whoever is saying weak arm is saying it for any reason other than that then they're talking out of their ###.

Is it a foregone conclusion that Andy Dalton is the long term qb solution for the Bengals? Or can Dan LeFevour challenge him?

IMO it's a foregone conclusion that Andy Dalton is NOT the long-term QB solution for the Bengals. How long it takes them to realize it, or who the eventual answer actually is I have no idea.Unless they 'win' the rights to Luck this year I suspect they'll wish they'd taken Gabbert when all is said and done.

Anyone who has faith in chicagos ability to judge QBs at this point...well to say they haven't been paying attention doesn't really quite capture it.
