Morgan is 120th in their PROJECTIONS, not rankings...because they base them on actual total fantasy scoring for the entire year. That includes factoring in that he will likely miss a lot of games. If they knew he would play in 16 games, I would bet he would be a top 25 LB at worst, but the fact is that he is a huge injury risk. There is no way he can really be projected much higher than that due to the fact that he always misses a lot of games.I would gladly take him at around 50-60. Even if he only plays 5-6 games, he will give you possible LB2 numbers for those games, at the cost of a LB5-6. Seems like good value to me.He may get hurt but i think he is incredible value this year. Everyone is down on him and assumes hes gonna get hurt. FBG experts Norton and Bloom have him ranked 118th and 123rd LB. Since you can get him so cheap he is a great value this year. You can spend a real low pick on him and just drop him if he gets hurt, but if hes healthy hes a solid LB2 or LB3 in most leagues. At this time he is healthy and is the starting MLB of the Panthers. I find it hard to believe there are 120 more valuable fantasy LBs than Morgan. His value is sure to shoot up a lot if he can get though a few games without a concussion.
I picked him off waivers and others have picked him up late in drafts. If he retires he retires and you could get a few weeks out of him. If not he could be valuable. I do too and he'll probably do it sometime this year. He probably needs one more before he can't find doctors who tell him what he wants to hear.I really wish he'd retire. I have such a foreboding feeling watching him play, and he's one of my favorite players.
Good Point about projections vs rankings. I just looked at the FBG rankings and 4 of the experts had Morgan between 47-58 for this year. And i agree about him being good value at 50-60. Its hard to find a guy with the upside of Morgan when picking your LB5-6.Morgan is 120th in their PROJECTIONS, not rankings...because they base them on actual total fantasy scoring for the entire year. It's good as long as you realize you may not have him for very long.Good Point about projections vs rankings. You're the only one who used the word decent in this thread. But, he did not look GREAT yesterday, sorry. I know Morgan when he looks GREAT, and yesterday they ran right at him play after play after play. It was situation where Edwards or Urlacher or Ryans or Bullock or Lewis or Thomas pile up a 6 or 7 solo half, and Morgan had half of what he should.Looked decent? He always looks GREAT when he plays! There is never a question about his play, it's just his ability to stay healthy or concussion free.

Sorry Bizkit, mea culpa. I just don't want the guy to go brain dead before our eyes. I don't want to listen to his slurred speech ten years from now in a piece about post concussion syndrome. I want him to call it a day. I have a heaping helping of understanding for him if he retires. Cut him some slack? For what? Being crazy? Trying to prolong his career when a few relatively minor collisions have sent him to lala land? For changing the way he hits to try not to go there anymore? Meh. It's nuts. He may post some big numbers for some of you. He may represent value in a fantasy draft. Reality is scary with this guy.CC - If you check the title of the thread...it says "decent."You're the only one who used the word decent in this thread. But, he did not look GREAT yesterday, sorry. There is never a question about his play, it's just his ability to stay healthy or concussion free.As for his play yesterday, cut the guy some slack...he's been out almost a year and is a concussion away from calling it a career. I think he deserves a pinch of understanding that a bit of rust needs to come off. As for his play in general, he one of the better MLB's in the game, if health is not considered. His play doesn't have any glaring weakness and he "brings the lumber" when he hits. He's more than solid and his play is GREAT compared to half or more of the guys in the NFL that are just keeping the position warm for the next body to take over.
I agree that it is crazy in that he is still playing. Reiminds me of a boxer, doesn't know when to hang them up. As for slack, I meant it in regards to his play. It's too bad he has had these health issues with consussions because he was AWESOME in college and turly is a GREAT player in regards to his play.Sorry Bizkit, mea culpa. Beason's starting.i drafted beason. hang em up dude!
Not inside, YET.Is Beason really starting?
WLB and when/if Morgan goes down he should move to MLB and James Anderson eventually should be the WLB. Diggs may hold Anderson off a while though. Is Beason really starting?
