Yeah, that's too bad. It actually looked like he might have run right through that catch rather than leaving his feet. I think they aired a shot of him looking pretty down on the bench during the last Seahawk drive. Oh well, he's certainly not the only Ram who had a rough go of it tonight. I think he and the Rams have a lot to look forward to in 2011.ItsOnlytheRiver said:
I would be shocked if the Rams don't draft Julio Jones, Jon Baldwin, Michael Floyd, or AJ Green. Amendola is best suited as a special teamer while occasionally getting some plays as a slot WR. Would love to see the Rams draft one of the before mentioned WRs and then go after Ryan Broyles in the 2nd round. Give Bradford some elite weapons and he will deliver.Where does Amendola fit in that scenario? I find it hard to believe that they bench a guy next season who is nearly top 15 in targets so far this season. I find it hard to see anyone in the top 30-35 in targets so far on this season that won't be considered a starter next season, and to have a guy who is nearly in the top 15 be relegated to the bench seems a stretch. Maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, I do think they have a load of WR talent moving forward. If any of them can stay healthy is another issue.I think they'll want Clayton back as a veteran presence and someone who has a good repoire with Bradford.I also think Clayton will want to return. Ideally, Clayton and Alexander start out wide with Avery in the slot.Maybe I'm just type casting Avery to his size, but I would think that would be the way they go if Alexander proves anything this year.
Rookie misses a diving catch.. And now he can't catch?Caught 3of5 in that game and 6of7 in the previous.. That's not bad for a rookie..why didnt anyone mention this guy cant catch?

Really early in the game here. Tons of health questions.AlexanderClayton - #2 / slide to slot on 3 wides (if healthy and big IF considering injury -- I think he'll be brought back)Avery (if healthy). Will see field a lot as I expect a lot of 3 wide sets.Amendola #4 / KR (Avery more physically gifted / Amendola probably the better football player -- no shock if Amendola moves to 3)Gibson (not a fan at all -- wouldn't be shocked if quickly overtaken and off roster altogether if the others are healthy)Draft Pick (depends on who they take on how long it'll take for him to move up)Robinson - Gone Gilyard - GoneCan DA be a top 3 WR on that team?Mark ClaytonDanny AmendolaDonnie AveryDanario AlexanderBrandon GibsonLaurent RobinsonBrandon GibsonMardy GilyardRookie Draft pick?
hawkscreech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1If the new coaching staff cares for him at all, and if he can stay healthy, he'll be Bradford's top target in 2011 and going forward.
I don't know that you can say Alexander will be the #1 with any certainty.. Clayton is by no stretch a given considering him injury. If he's 100%, I think he could be #1 in 2011. Alexander's the only 1 on the roster that's got #1 WR skills (to be an upper echelon WR).In the respect they've played more games, sure. they've shown more. Fantasy wise, give me the homerun potential of Alexander. Nothing Avery's done to date really tells me he's better than Alexander (or as talented). I think Avery is a Devery Henderson type :shrugDon't really need to go into detail why Gilyard could be gone. . I think you should tell why he should remain on the roster if the Rams go WR early on... Don't get carried away here. He's a 4th round pick that showed nothing despite injuries up and down the WR core. They're aren't keeping more than 6 WR's. Amendola, Alexander are locked in. Clayton, Avery are very likely back IMO (Bradford will assure the former is). That leaves probably 2 spots between Gibson, Gilyard, draft pick. I'm not big on either guy myself. Probably all depends on what they draft/bring in.I don't know that you can say Alexander will be the #1 with any certainty.. Obviously I get DA's potential, I studied him early on.. started this thread.. I know he could be great.. But if Clayton is back to early season form, I'd expect him to be the top target. Then Amendola was a great possession WR this year, why bump him? Avery will be fighting for a top 3 spot as well as Alexander.. Problem being, Alexander didn't cement himself in while he had the opportunity.. I still see (If all healthy) Clayton and Amendola ahead of him in depth atm, with DA and Avery fighting to move up.Clayton is by no stretch a given considering him injury. I think Amendola's a natural for the slot. And while odds are in Clayton's favor (if healthy, again big if) to be the #1, I certainly wouldn't pass on DA's youth & upside for him. I expect this to turn into a very pass happy team sooner than later (to the point where the 3&4 won't see much difference in PT/stats)I'm not a big Avery fan (I rate him more at 3 because his upside surpasses that of Amendola). And with Bradford back there, he's certainly is more desirable (and he's w/o question more talented than the likes of Gibson/Robinson/Gilyard)Obviously I get DA's potential, I studied him early on.. started this thread.. Without injuries and big mistakes by some of the others, I just think DA is going to have a hard time wrestling that #1 position down..
Coach Otis was out in front of this one last year.As an outsider, I love this move Bradford was making the mediocre Mark Clayton look really good. Now take a guy with superior physical tools and who dominated in college. The potential here is off the charts. Bradford needs the weapons and if I'm a Rams fan I'm liking getting this kid the experience now and getting him in early to develop alongside Bradford. As a Mizzou and Rams homer, I'm torn here. The guy is still wearing a brace and has said he's not 100%, so the Mizzou fan in me is fearing that this guy's NFL career will be over before it starts. The Rams fan in me says he's got to be better than Gillyard...

Yep. He is a crippled man's Calvin Johnson. If only Alexander could play more then a few snaps . Knees are gone. had his 6th knee procedure before the season. He barley plays and dosent even play some games but man if he was healthy he might dominate. Dude is one talented WR.
Someone made a point that the DB covering him is only on the team because of deep injuries to the Giants. Maybe grab him and trade him to anyone else that wanted him as well. Not sure what his value is but he had a few big games last year as well. Best ball league he is worth something. If you have to fill in a line up I don't think you want to had to start him.Not worth an a wavier wire pickup?
He really not worth picking up. He only plays a handfull of snaps. I dont think he even came back in the game after the TD. after he has a long run his knees give him issues I read last season. I mean the last 2 drives when they needed to pass and were down 2 scores he wasnt even there. And if it was like last season he will have knee issues all week and not play much next week then in 2-3 weeks another 100 yard game. Its just too bad.
I have added him and dropped him no fewer than 3 times. Not going to make it 4.I'm not really sure what game you guys watched. The Rams (outside of Alexander) were awful in the red zone. He not only made a beautiful play on his TD catch, but he was able to get open for another would be TD that was batted down at the line. IMO the Rams are going to use him as much as they can possibly get out him in the very near future. Obviously no one knows how long his knee can hold up. Will it be a week, a month or a few years? Impossible to really say, but I feel pretty confident in saying he's the best red zone target they have and their best deep threat to boot.
Salas was awful and Gibson was targetted 8 times to DX's 7 targets. Clealry MSW is the "go to" WR, but Alexander is also clearly more talented than Gibson or Salas. As long as DX can stay on the field, he should be fairly productive - especially as a huge red zone target (he's 2 inches taller than Kendricks - and is the same age - only 23).I don't know that I'd be starting him next week or anything like that, but if I didn't already have him in dynasty, I'd surely be looking to add him. The knee's might be a little high risk, but 6' 5" 23 year old WR with Sam Bradford throwing him the ball could be very high reward.two totally different kinds of receivers . . .Julio Jones = DX with good knees.
Let's hope they're easing him in. I'm a little perplexed as to why he wasn't used around the goal line more. The guy is a monster one on one. I saw one time they went at him and the ball was batted. He needs to be there and Kendrick's on the other side inside the 5. If they stack the line, go to the WR's, double the WR's, go up the gut.I was floored how they churned out major yardage at will but couldn't get 5 yards over and over once they got in the redzone. I think Steve Young said it after the game, 8 on 7 drills in the redzone for the next four days. Getting down the field is almost easy for them. They looked like they were running a clinic despite the dropped balls. But inside the five, they looked like the same old lambs...

I'm hoping that's not the case. We'll see. I'll check the local boards this week and report back here on his condition...Can't wait for the swollen knee reports, again.
This - and this has always been the case with Big D. IF his knees can hold up, he is the most talented WR on the Rams (and also the best red zone target due to size and speed)...but that has been an "if" the size of a small continent - like Australia, maybe even South America. As for DX, let's watch how much he practices this week. He got hit pretty hard a couple times last night. If he practices all week I can see him getting more snaps next week.
this hurt them twice in the opening drive of the second half... very first play he stared DX down and had the ball tipped at the line of scrimmage where DX was open... then the last play of the drive in the end zone where he stared him down into the back of the end zone and had the ball tipped at the line of scrimmage where DX was open by this much |<-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->| Bradford showing signs of a young qb still, hopefully he watches tapes and figures this out, redzone offense without sjax was terrible.eta: DX was in on a ton of plays despite what the target numbers may show. as others have said, if he doesn't show up on an injury report this week he's a stud in the making.Bradford basically has tunnel vision for this guy whenever he is on the field. It's a little unnerving sometimes.
not again . . .if he doesn't show up on an injury report this week he's a stud in the making.
According to Rotoworld, 19 of the 69. (Or a little less than a third.) - although the same piece quotes Spags as saying DX's workload will "increase going forward, but the Rams are still mindful of his surgically repaired knee."Does anyone have info on # of snaps DX and the rest of the rams WRs played?

I always say, I'm going to give DX 2 weeks until I start him. 2 weeks is a pretty good trend in FF, but I find myself wanting to get him in after these big weeks, cause it looks so natural. If the guy is healthy, he's a top 15 WR. Just high points everything, big, fast, good hands, athletic like Marshall. He was a stud in college and did that same stuff and then some every week. It's not a fluke that's for sure, just needs the knees to hold. With Bradford and McD...this could be the convergence? Use him while you've got the knees!I lost 2 games last year becasue I started DX. The guy I sat got enough for me to win but DX got his usual 0 . Again love the talent but for fantasy a guy who has a big game then nothing for 2-3 weeks then a big game again is a fantasy killer. He always goes off on your bench and gets zero in the starting lineup. frustrating.
