Per GBN.com

Cards tag star LB… Arizona has placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on ILB Karlos Dansby. The Cardinals, though, intend to continue negotiations with Dansby on a long-term contract and have until July 15 to strike a new deal. If Dansby is not signed by that date, he will play the entire 2008 season under a tag that will result in a one-year salary of $8.1M. Meanwhile, Dansby can continue to negotiate with other teams and the Cardinals would receive two first round picks as compensation if he signs with another team.

Think I read somewhere that with Dansby's new franchise $ and Fitzs crazy bump Az has $20M locked into 2 players - they better find a way to reduce fitz quick!

Not surprising, but it will make it very hard to retain Pace's services. I'm betting some team pays Pace a big bunch of $$$.

You got that right. Look for the Browns to show heavy interest in Pace if he projects as a pass rushing OLB to bookend Kamerion Whimbly. I'd much prefer Karlos but  sigh, yer right, it was expected.
