I've always found that stupid... but people have been doing it for years and years without any previous deaths. it's a st maarten "thing to do" where there would be very reasonable expectation to not meet your maker doing it... so I refuse to cast a darwin vote on this. any of these tall building parkour people.... sure, but not this.

But there has been at least one serious injury that happened exactly the same way.  I hardly have to see someone die before I figure out that an activity is really stupid.

CBS mentions the other injuries.  

Henson said dozens have been injured in recent years by the jet blasts, but this is the first time someone has died.

over decades? 

I agree it's stupid and would never do this... but I've flown in and out of that airport more than I probably should have over the years- tons of people lined up every time. one death. probably more people die or get hurt fishing. 

but they'll probably, finally, close this thing down and stop people from doing it. or... caribbean style... put up new signs.
