Dating Shows (1 Viewer)

Anyone here watch dating shows with their spouse? If so which ones?

My wife loves these things and will watch most of them, no matter how dumb the premise. I still think about 80% of them are unwatchable, but in an effort to spend more time with her I've started watching a couple series with her over the years. They're typically something we put on at the end of the day to fall asleep to and I have a habit of playing on my phone if I lose interest.

We've been watching...

Married at first sight - Couple gets married without seeing each other and spends 2 months together before calling it off or staying together.

Love is Blind - People speed date without seeing each other and the men propose to the personality they like. They get married a month later if it works. - New season just started on Valentines Day

Love After Lockup - People date prison inmates and the cameras follow them after they get released. This is a hot mess, but somehow entertaining.

Wont watch - anything filled with 20-year-olds as it's just too mind numbing.

This show has contributed people to House of Villains.

I have no interest in dating shows, but I especially have no interest in dating shows with people acting villainously.

I've never heard of House of Villains.

Hard no, and thankfully she doesn't expect me to. She mentioned that we weren't spending enough time together late last year to which I responded (paraphrasing) well, when I am home in the evening during the week, you retreat to our room after Jeopardy and watch trash TV. You want to watch garbage that's no problem with me, but if you want to spend more time together, then what about watching it on coaching nights then we find something we both want to watch on non-coaching nights?

She course corrected after the new year.

It’s on E! and Peacock. It’s basically a parody of reality competition shows. 10 people who have displayed villainous behavior on other reality shows live together and compete in what is basically a shortened version of Big Brother.

Haven't gotten into any of those with the SO. We typically do more series's and movies, but the reality shows we do watch are either the hgtv home improvement shows or restaurant impossible reruns.

No and I'm glad she doesn't watch them either. Our viewing habits are similar and she doesn't like shows or movies geared towards women.

The original Joe Millionaire was the only one I thought was good. Never saw it, but heard about it, then watched the end when all the girls who put out for the guy found out he was poor.
The look on their faces was like a priceless gem.

We watch this, more for locations than the drama. there seems to be a formula for it.. somehow, a few nasty people make it through the screening process. meh... mindless entertainment as we head off to bed

It’s actually one of the few things we “argue” about. She thinks watching sports is dumb and I think watching this kind of stuff is dumb. We have plenty of shows we watch together but are on opposite ends of the spectrum in this regards. I will say, while I don’t totally agree I do see the logic in saying that watching sports is essentially reality TV. You are watching someone else live their life - we just happen to find what’s interesting to do wildly different.

Look up the show Baggage and a show from the 70's called 3's a Crowd.

Absolutely hilarious (and sad).
Three’s a Crowd was savagely criticized by the media and the public, and basically ended Chuck Baris’ career.

It resulted in 12 divorces and one secretary being fired.

Not surprised at all. I couldn't understand why anyone would agree to go on the show. I never saw it "live". I stumbled upon it on the game show network in the 90's. We were flabbergasted that it was a real show.

My wife watches some of these shows, notably Married at First Sight. I come out to the great room where she's watching most nights and stand and watch about 15-20 seconds' worth before just scoffing and going back to my office/bedroom to watch sports or Impractical Jokers. I'm positive she thinks what I watch is trash and same goes for her choices.

The last show we watched "together" was either Game of Thrones or one of the Walking Dead series.

Finding someone with the same mindset is tough, but granny **** dating makes it so much easier. No awkward expectations or misleading intentions—just clear, straightforward connections. I love how easy it is to chat and meet new people without worrying about unnecessary complications. If you’re tired of traditional dating struggles, this site is a must-try!
