Davenport (1 Viewer)

H.K.

This guy brings a load and can make a fine #2. I know he's got some dirty laundry in his past, but hopefully it won't hamper him in finding a new squad. Any updates on where he'll go after he got dumped?

I'm thinking the situation that makes the most sense might be Philadelphia, of course if Suggs fails his physical again he will end up in Miami. I wonder if Denver would consider dropping Cobbs for him.

But to answer your question, no new reports that is just my speculation.

One of the funniest posts I've seen in quite a while. :excited:

This will be the last Davenport thread that I put this information.

Davenports ankles may not let him EVER play again (From last year). The guy ran all preseason like he was running on broken glass. For this year. at least, he is done. Don't look for a signing and you wont be dissappointed.

Im coming clean with all I know.

Davenport has not had nearly the same power he has had in the past. I think thats attributed to his offseason surgury and his bad ankle. This preseason I noticed that Davenport did not seem to have nearly the speed that he used to. He was brought down WAY too many times by the ankles or horsecollars and was running very upright. He couldnt get to the corner. I dont recall it ever taking more than one guy to bring him down. These observations are what had me thinking GB was going to cut him all along. He doesnt seem to any longer have - for whatever reason - the skills that made him such an intriguing backup.

Final call - Add to the above Davenports injury history, subtract his one big game 11/29/2004, and you have yourself a VERY average AT BEST 4th round draft choice who is stuck somewhere between a Fullback and a Halfback. He is a completely UNSPECIAL player, and when he finally does sign with the Miami Dolphins(speculation) he will have absolutly ZERO effect on Ronnie Brown.

I honestly do not think Davenport is ever going to be an impact player in this league unless the Chiefs or Panthers sign him.

deader than Brokeback Mountain shtick
The amusing part were posters who actually responded to the question seriously. Those guys are dedicated FF players. :banned:

Maybe they need to lighten up on their load before they wind up going to hell in a hand (laundry) basket. If they keep straining so hard on things in life that should be #2's on their priority list they're going to turn into a bunch of grunts.

Guy could really bring a loadProbably do to some circulation, straining problems.

Good that he finally got that taken care of, I know it's a sensitive (t)issue.

Would you? Give the guy a break, he's bringing everything he can, it might just take a little longer.

He was brought down WAY too many times by the ankles and was running very upright.

Where would you expect his pants to be? I'd be running a little upright to after that dealio.

He couldnt get to the corner.

Of course dude. That's why he was in the girl's dormroom.

He doesnt seem to any longer have - for whatever reason - the skills that made him such an intriguing backup.

Hey, he might have had corrective surgery but it's not a cure-all. He's still going to have problems when he eats cheese just like the rest of us.

Dude, check your draft guides, if not for the infamous incident, which was totally not his fault, he was trying to get to the corner, he would have landed in Round 2. And, again, just because he had surgery doesn't mean he won't have some problems in the passing game.
