Does anyone see this guys value go up now that he was the only kick returner last week?

or is he not going to handle KR duty's very long?

Maybe I am reaching here but he looks to now have a lot of value in Points for Return leagues.

anyone have any kind of scoop on David Gettis?

Gettis is going to be one of the starting WRs in Carolina before too long, IMO - he and Brandon LaFell will be the tandem of the future there if all goes well. He (Gettis) has one 100+ yard receiving game this year (week seven at San Fran, 8/125/2) and also had 2/92/1 in the Baltimore game.

My bud and fellow Footballguy Cecil Lammey ranked Gettis as the 16th best 2010 WR prospect pre-draft:

16. David Gettis - Baylor, 6’3” 217 lbs. - Gettis does not drop many passes, but he body catches most every pass thrown his way. Coaches were working with him at the Texas vs The Nation game, and Gettis seemed to improve over the course of a week of practice. He can gain significant yards after the catch, but struggles with running precise routes.
Personally, I like his situation/future potential in Carolina. The one thing that concerns me about both those guys (I have drafted both in various dynasty/keeper leagues) is that there WILL be a coaching staff change at the end of this season in Carolina, so the incoming staff won't necessarily have any loyalty to the last staff's draft picks.

That said, the team spent a lot of picks on offense last year so the incoming staff will have to work with what they have on hand to a degree - they'll have no choice.

My

True but ultimately talent wins out. I can remember Michael Irvin was the last guy on the team who was with the Tom Landry era, that didn't stop Jimmy Johnson from using him.If that guy is the real deal, he'll come through the coaching change just fine. If he's a flash in the pan, then ya a new coach will send him packing probably a little sooner than one that brought him in.

True, talent will win out - if the player gets a chance on the field to prove what he can do. Peyton Hillis was traded away to the Browns by the Broncos new coaching staff under Josh McDaniels for next to nothing this year - he was a Shanahan draft pick who put up 68/343/5 rushing and 19 targets for 14/179/1 in his rookie season, but only got 13/54/1 rushing and six targets for 4/19/0 under the new regime before being traded.

I bet McDaniels wishes he'd given Hillis more of a chance on the field.

my ;)

Ok so he has potential for up coming years..

what about this year? do you think he will remain the kick returner? and is he the #2 wide out or is he more of a #3 #4 guy?

For this season, I think he is unplayable in any league unless you are truly desperate or just plain crazy. I can't see any consistency from anyone on that team, whether they're the #1 WR or #8.
