This guy looks like a beast. He is all over the place today. If he keeps this up a few more games he can be in the running for the DROY.
Bullock just got dropped.......I have been hoping and hoping that he would turn it around....that stat line from Harris was all I needed to see.
I had Harris on my watch list and was looking to see who I could upgrade at DB after this weekend and when i saw those numbers...I blinked and blinked and blinked and then went click, click, click....

I have to look back at the game on TIVO tomorrow, but Harris was ridiculous today. He would go in lateral persuit, and disappear in the trash, only to emerge on the other side line to make a tackle. He has a non-stop motor, and a nose for the ball. He attacks the offense, he doesn't defend. Sure, 20 solos is nuts, and not likely to be repeated, but he has been nothing short of a shoe in DROY these past two games. Perhaps the lone bright spot in a dismall Jets season, with Clemens as the possible exception.

There is no tackles record. Tackles are not an official NFL stat.
I have been playing FFL with IDP for 20 years and I don't remember a player racking up 20 freakni' solos. Ray-Ray I think had 18 or 19. I'll ask his owner.

Portis had 200 yds rushing yesterday; the run defense is horrible.... yeah the kid is making tackles, but its after the 6yds of running.

I'm pulling for him to catch Willi and win the DROY. 41 freakin tackles in 2 games is in sane. I don't care waht the circumstances are. Freakin nuts!!!! I can't wait to watch him the rest of the year. i just traded for him last week for Jarvis Moss,2010 1st and 3rd round picks.

"Tackle by Roosevelt...sacked by Roosevelt...mauled by Roosevelt (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, 1983). By the way, will he keep Vilma at bay next year, is he that good? Best waiver wire selection all year for me.

Every since the switch to a 3-4 his numbers have suffered. He is a natural fit in a Mike position for a 4-3. Harris is a better fir for the 3-4.yeah Vilma wasn't happy in NY anyway. Smizzy, don't bother. I know we are supposed to be nice in the IDP forum, so that's all I'll say. This is the same Yahoo league owner that calls out staff, even in his sig. I'm sure it'll get worse when he reaches legal drinking age in 2012.

Im as big a Jet fan that there is and post once in a while at JN and TGG. I agree with Kellys Heroes, the Jets run defense is painfull to watch. I dont think he was attacking Harris' ability but that the oppurtunities might not be there if the Jets had a more effective defensive line

All I was saying was the Run D is the worst I ever have seen... I'm not saying Harris sucks... hes play the position 100xs better than JV. Glad you saw my pt... unlike a couple others; you actually read my post.

I did read your post. You said Harris' tackles were 6 yards downfield. He had quite a few stops at the line of scrimmage, and a few for losses behind the line of scrimmage. Did he make some downfield tackles? Yes. As for this point about the Jets defense that you only NOW brought up, yes, the Jets run D is awful. They have no NT, and the OLB's Thomas and Hobson can't tackle an old lady in a gurney. But that isn't what you said in your first post. Maybe you should actually read your post. Sorry, but you just rubbed me the wrong way early on, when you called out Borbley, who is on staff in your sig. It's one thing to challenge someone on staff in a thread, quite another to carry that flag by using it in your sig line. Say something stupid, like in your first post, and catch me in an ornery mood, and I'll point it out again.

When I saw Harris play at Michigan every week, he was never the fastest guy, or the biggest, or the most athletic. But he is tough, aggressive and a great tackler. I think he will always have strong tackle numbers, and a lot of it is because he has great instincts and is very intelligent. He just has a nose for the ball.

The same can be said of Patrick Willis. Playmakers make plays wherever there are plays to be made, be it at the LOS or 10yds down field. A tackle is a tackle is a tackle...

I made a trade in my dynasty league this past offseason to an owner that had scant talent and was in rebuilding mode. I talked him into trading me TO for a package of players (Leftwich, D. Foster, D. Bennett and a 3rd round draft pick). I went back and looked. That 3rd rounder was used on Harris. I no longer feel guilty for fleecing him.

Just picked up this guy in a Zealots league. Have not seen him play, but almost 40 tackles in two games cant just be a fluke, can it? I would have to guess that this guy is now a top 20 dynasty LB, no?

It will be difficult to keep this pace up, even with the relatively weak Jet run defense, but Harris is definitely the real deal. He's been discussed in the long Vilma thread recently too. I think he has a chance to crack the mid LB1 tier long term, but realistically it's probably best to consider him in the big low LB1-mid LB2 range.

I'll probably have him as a mid LB2 for now. It's really hard to rank a player based on 2 games.

I just made a trade in my 32 team dynasty league involving Harris. The "meat" of the trade basically involved Harris and Laverneous Coles FOR DeShaun Foster and Jerricho Cotchery (I received Harris and Coles). My LB corps was composed of older guys that are just clinging to dear life, so Harris will be an upgrade for the long term. This is also a contract league so I got Coles with a 4 yr contract and Harris with a 5 yr contract! Foster, I overpaid for during our FA draft and still has 4 yrs left on his contract, but Cotchery is on his last year.I'm getting warm fuzzies after pulling that trade off.
Now I have a reason to watch Jets games. He appears to be a tackle machine!Top of the heap.

Makes sense to me the way he's produced in the 2 games with Vilma out.I think this game might show what to expect from him the rest of the year though. The Stillers should be up by 14, 20 or so minutes in the game, and most of the second half might get to the point where its even more Davenpoop than FWP due to a possible big lead. Also, I'd say PIT O-line run blocking (not to mention Ward) is better than WAS and BUF. We'll see how that comes into play.Needless to say, he's in my lineup this week. If he even gets me say 8-4, I'll be more than happy.If he does that good too, that should mean to expect similar numbers consistently since I don't see the Jets D not getting run on very often.
