OK people, is it time to start worrying about David Harris? It's two games into the season and he hasn't done jack. He was puttin gup better numbers last year in a part time role than he is as a full time starter.

Talk me off the ledge, PLEASE....

I hear you...I spent 5% of my cap on him.....looking stupid right now.....

After two games, he is middle of the pack. I read all the stuff that FBG's wrote about him, and it all sounded so reasonable, I drank the Kool Aid.

Like the Kool Aid I drank last year with Kerry Rhodes. I notice they are still selling that flavor.

I wish one of the football guys would weigh in on this. I really thought that Harris was going to BLOW up this season, unfortunately he's just imploding.

Harris was a tackling machine last year and while I did not expect those same insane numbers, I still had him ranked as a low LB1. Be patient is all I can say; it's only two games.

I think maybe the most surprising thing is that Barton has had more solo tackles than DH both weeks, and I think maybe even total tackles, but theyre close nonetheless

In my league, we only start 2 DL/LB and most dont use roster spots on reserves so theyre always decent players as FA's.

Im pretty sure Im dropping him for Justin Tuck

Holy Panic Button, Batman! If you saw the game yesterday, the Pats spread the ball from here to Boston, and Harris seemed to have a guy on him all the time. I can't explain the Miami game, but let's take it easy for another week and see what happens.

:goodposting: He's going on MNF vs SD this week. If you drafted him based on last year's abbreviated stats and you were to let him go now and he blows up ......man, would you feel like a tool!! :wall: At least that's MY rationale for going with him for another week ;)

Harris played on a bad team last year. The addition of Favre - which boosted the offense - should hurt Harris. Fewer games where the Jets trail, fewer games where opponents run the ball the entire 2nd half.

pats ran 32x last week.so far, jets have put up 20 on the dolphins and 10 in week 2.edit:I think last year there were a total of maybe 5 games where they got beat by more than a score.

As somebody pointed out in another Harris panic thread  :

FBG projected roughly 100/40 for Harris this year.

If you break that down, his numbers after 2 weeks would be 13/3. He's currently at 9/4. 4 Tackles is not an insurmountable difference.

That's not to say his slow start isn't disturbing, but it definitely doesn't eliminate him from being a top 5-10 LB for the season.

2007: Teams ran on the Jets 517 times, or 32.3 times per game. 2008: Teams have run on the Jets 49 times, or 24.5 per gameThat is a decrease of 25%. Before people say "small sample size", I understand that. Perhaps going forward in 2008, teams will run on the Jets more than 24 times per game. But I think it's a fair hypothesis to guess that the Jets are more competitive this year, win more games, thus allow opposing offenses fewer opportunities to run out the clock, and forcing more teams to throw on them. And evidently through 2 games the data supports my hypothesis. Of course, the real reason for Harris' low production could be a number of factors:1) randomness / small sample size2) slight change in defensive scheme3) nagging injury that nobody knows about4) Harris simply isn't a special player

repetition doesn't increase accuracy.
