David Price (1 Viewer)

News: The Tampa Tribune reports that Rays SP Carlos E. Hernandez is the likely favorite to get the rotation spot vacated by Scott Kazmir's trip to the 15-day DL with a quad problem.

Analysis: Hernandez is 3-2 with a 4.29 ERA, 14 walks and 32 strikeouts in eight Triple-A starts this season. Once a former prospect with the Astros, Hernandez has had a couple of shoulder surgeries and had minimal Fantasy value before this move. There is no guarantee how many starts he'll get in this trip up to Tampa, but he will pitch for a pretty decent team and is worth a flier in AL-only leagues.

It will be Price. He's skipping his start tomorrow.

The Hernandez thing is based off of the fact that Monday is his spot in the Durham rotation.

ESPN is reporting that Price was called up.

Price joins Rays

ESPN is reporting that David Price has been called up to join the Rays rotation. He will start on Monday in Scott Kazmir's place. Kazmir is on the 15-day DL with strained quad.

Our View: Price is universally owned, even though he has been stuck at Triple-A all season long. There is as much hype around him as any prospect in the game, and we'll enjoy watching what he can do this season. He'll face the Indians on Monday, and we like his odds.

His era and record were mediocre in AAA (experimenting)...but I believe he threw 6 hitless innings his last time out?

Too many pitches. Don't think he'll get through 5.
He won't...seems a little nervous...but dam he's overpowering these guys. Only been two innings, but no one has come close to hitting the ball solid...and Laporta just looked like a little leaguer. Consistently hitting 98 with the fastball and 89 with the slider.

sat through 3 GD hours of ineptitude last night and as soon as we leave they put up 9 runs in the last 2 innings. f'in Tribe.

I never quite understood why someone would pay so much for a ticket to a pro game, and leave early. No matter what the score is.
my cousin got the tickets for free and we had our 4 kids with us. 9pm + school night + fidgety kids + free tix + 10-2 deficit + no sign of offense = time to go.

Not sure what to think of the pitch count...like was said, he looked nervous/figgety/uncomfortable.Is this his norm, or was it an effect of his being amped up?:

I stand corrected.
