I own him, I'd rather be proactive than reactive.

This is where I am. I'm almost always the guy scratching my head after a guy like this blows up. if it doesn't happen this year so be it.

I'm on board. Drafted him last night in a Dynasty league just after Richardson and Martin went off the board. I do fear running into the CJ Spiller, Don Brown, Jonathan Stewart syndrome. But in the highlights that I've seen there is some real talent in this kid; and I fully trust the Giants coaching staff to utilize them.While I would love for him to go off this year (I'm desperate for #2 RB); my expectations are for year 2 or 3 when Bradshaw's ankles really begin to breakdown.

The media will talk about T-Pain and Muscle Hamster but this was the guy that really opened my eyes in this year's NFL draft. This guy led the NCAA in yards after contact, which tells me a lot for a guy his stature. It tells me about his attitude. That he's finishing runs and not running out of bounds. Great feet, downhill runner, finishes runs, runs inside, runs outside, can make himself small before initial contact which will help prolong his career, second gear deep speed, quickness, pretty good lateral agility, a little stiff in the hips but nothing a few salsa dancing lessons can't help(serious). And his two most eye popping abilities...UNBELIEVABLE BALANCE after contact and BURST. Watching his collegiate highlights, he lulls the defense to sleep by running directly AT the defender i.e. checking the defender. It's kinda like in basketball where they teach you to go at the body of a shot blocker which limits their range and anticipation. And right before the defender is about to jump at him for the tackle, he's gone. Taking space to create space. You can't do this unless you have the ability to separate with the quick short burst. If you're a LB or DB and a RB does that kinda stuff to you, it's not a good feeling bc you just got punked.

Watching his preseason highlights, what really stands out is that his speed and quickness are still very obvious against grown ### men at the next level. While I admire his toughness to break tackles, he needs to let some of that go bc he's just not built for that life. Hopefully the NY brass is harping on him to get down.

I got Wilson fairly cheap in an auction keeper this weekend. Surprising to me because the league is primarily Giants fans. I don't think they're down on Wilson as much as they think the world of Bradshaw, and expect him to become more effective with Jacobs gone.

To me, I just love how Wilson looks, simple as that.

The Wilson hype is causing Bradshaw to be had at a bargain price. I got Bradshaw in the 5th round in my last draft. Even with Wilson, Bradshaw will score 10 TDs. Solid, but unspectacular RB2. Great flex play. Now I can trade him to the Wilson owner later or stand pat.

I see your logic, but then I think of the team and question why they would spend a first round pick on a RB if they were totally happy with their current starter. I cannot think of a reason. Normally if you want to draft a decent backup, you use a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Usually a first round pick is to draft someone to plug into a hole in your current lineup to make an immediate impact.Noting that Bradshaw has missed some games due to injury, this could be the reason. Or perhaps New york was just so impressed with the kid they decided to take the plunge. Either way, this looks bad for Bradshaw and good for Wilson. I suppose the truth will become apparent in a few weeks.

Honestly... the only way Wilson doesn't become a stud is if he can never figure out how to pass block.

When I watch those few highlights from the other night and a bunch of his college highlight reels he looks amazing. He makes the same appearance Sanders used to make. Now before it gets said... I am in NO way trying to state David Wilson is the next Barry Sanders. I'm just observing some things from highlights. When you watch old Barry Sanders highlights you watch him dance in the backfield and find every hole available to him to hit. See watch him as people try to tackle him and if you watch the tackler's and not Barry you think "Man, these guys should learn to tackle". He just bounces off guys, guys will lunge at him and hit him square at pad level and he just stumbles for 1-2 steps and then is back at full speed almost instantaneously.

After watching some of the better videos of David Wilson's college highlights on Youtube and seeing flashes of that in last weeks preseason game version last years #5 rushing defense Wilson seems to run very similar. His balance is unbelievable. It's almost like someone has a remote control pendulum that's strapped to his back. You get that same feel watching all his highlights of people looking like they simply don't know how to tackle. In the one highlight a guy essentially trucks him while he's an inch away from the sideline and only his upper body shifts and he managed to tip toe and retain balance for the extra 10 yards and dive into the end zone.

Again, I'm by no means actually stating he is any where near Barry Sander's level of player. As far as I'm concerned Sanders is the best RB in the history of the NFL. I'm just saying watch a David Wilson highlight reel then watch a Sanders highlight reel. They resemble each other a lot. That being said, it's possible his talents never actually translate to the NFL level. If they do though? Watch out.

Oh I'm sure I'll get killed for it, tried to spin that backwards a little bit by mentioning like 3 times that I'm not saying he is near the caliber that Sanders was... simply saying he possesses a lot of the same skill areas that made Sanders such a nightmare. I can't remember the last time I saw a back with this kind of balance and burst combination, it's horrifying.

Week 4 of the preseason is widely considered about as useful as a rumor that I heard from my Dad who heard it from some guy at work, whose son told him that his buddy went to college with this one player and that one of his friends was friends with that player and apparently that friend says that player is a big sleeper this year.

It's not a bad offer, but it all depends on how you feel about White's role & Smith's infection.My gut says to stay put.

Actually it was looking very much like Ware may have been the third down/2nd string RB.He is very workman like, solid RB who hit the holes and knows the pass protection schemes to keep their franchise player upright and healthy.It is a bit of a surprise and it definitely bumps Wilson's immediate opportunity to contribute.

My question is though, who is the next vet in line?

Here is my take. For a top 5 passing team that throws almost 600 times a year, who will assume pass-blocking duties? Their bread is buttered in the passing game and there is no way they're banking on Bradshaw to do it all. I know some here think Wilson is special and he looks like Barry Sanders ect... but the truth is, he's a rook and the Giants don't trust him on passing downs.

Coughlin and Manning have recently spoke to his green-ness and how he's totally ran the wrong way on some plays in games. In preseason they only use Wilson in running plays, play action or have him running patterns while someone else stays in to block. Now I'm not making a talent comparison, but this is how Donald Brown was handled when he was a rook in Indy. They didn't want to tempt fate with a green guy blocking for Manning. Who would on a passing team? I envision a role similar to Donald Brown's rookie season.. He'll get usage on running downs, a series with plays designed for him here and there (plays he's comfortable with, very little PB responsibility) and possibly use him as the closer for games where they're protecting the lead. This team just won the Super Bowl, they aren't about to change up the offense for a rookie. If he can pick up the offense and leave his fumbling problems behind, his role will grow.

I'm not meaning to rain on the parade here, but with late drafts and week 1 of the regular season coming, it's a good for us to assess what we have here. IMO, he is now overvalued in drafts. His current ADP is ahead of Jennings, Tate, Rodgers and DeAngelo Williams. That is just stupid and those taking him that early will regret it. Whether Bradshaw is healthy or not, Wilson has limited upside in this offense. Will he rise to the occasion? Who knows? Time will tell.
