Fumble was a bit of a downer
Will make a regular appearance, to boot. Not sure why everyone has such bullish projections on him, when he can't hold onto the ball, and that's going to interfere with his reps.Sorry to all the buyers in this thread, but you invested in fool's gold.Fumble was a bit of a downer
Only someone who doesn't know what they're doing. But let's not string him before his first game is over.Did anyone actually start Wilson today??
this. hes a top handcuff. thats allLOL @ Wilson owners who thought this would be a 50/50 timeshare.
He was started in 13.5% of leagues at MFL.Did anyone actually start Wilson today??
I did try to warn people.Da'Rel Scott. Don't like Wilson's fumbling and coughlin will bench him if he does. What other choices did he have outside of Bradshaw and Jacobs? I like Wilson but if he doesn't fix the fumbling issue his touches will be limited as long as Coughlin has other options.I'm optimistic but cautious.
There are some common things that are said about Coughlin that I think aren't valid:
1) He won't play fumblers. Both Bradshaw and Jacobs have had issues with fumbling. It mainly led to changes in which back got the starting series. In this case Bradshaw will get most starting series unless he reverts back to his fumbling ways, is hurt or Wilson just dominates and takes the job. Coughlin doesn't have much choice but to play a couple of RBs with Bradshaw being on a pitch count with his feet.
It was or was pretty close before the fumbleLOL @ Wilson owners who thought this would be a 50/50 timeshare.
I guess Bradshaw's 2.7 ypc can only go up, so maybe.Coughlin might trust him again in a month or two..
I still think the plan is to do that. The running game needs a shot in the arm. They have to do something different.LOL @ Wilson owners who thought this would be a 50/50 timeshare.

So he has a history of fumbling and he can't block yet. Yeah, ok. I've been saying all along, his time will come but barring an injury to Bradshaw, that time will probably be next year. The Giants O-Line isn't very good and Bradshaw is a hell of a blocker. Also, I think AB did the best with what he was given. People forget Dallas had one of the better run D's in the league last year. Manning sucked tonight, so that didn't help the run game either. The Giants desperately need Wilson. Coughlin showed the tough love & Wilson took his medicine, but Bradshaw's days as their starter are numbered. Wilson is simply that good & Bradshaw is just a guy. Wilson can be a fantasy monster in that offense. He'll learn to hang onto the rock.

...Has suspect ball security with several fumbles over his career, holding the ball too loose. Has some coachability issues, openly questioning the play-calling at times ... butted heads with the coaching staff more than a few times for not enough carries. Has only one season as the full-time starter.
Well, that is pretty crazy how far he rose in the last week+. Other sites I looked at still had him close to RB40, not in the top RB30's. In my 3 leagues, all of which drafted in the last week, he went 103, 92, and 116. I took him at 116, but even his high of 92 is considerably lower than his ADP that this says of 74 (which is ludicrous). I dont think I ever saw him even go close to that in a mock I did.Just saying.http://fantasyfootballcalculator.com/adp.php?year=2012&teams=12&pos=rbCan I see a link?? Yeah, but too bad Wilson still can't block. Oh let me guess, you didn't see the blocks Bradshaw put up tonight.go get him now if you can, could be a great value from a panicked owner. from what we saw of Bradshaw tonight, he is not the answer. Wilson is the much more talented runner and both fumbled tonight as well so it's even there too so far.
I didn't say anything bad about Bradshaw's blocking. he ran poorly though and a big play threat like Wilson will get his share of yards eventually, poor blocking won't keep them from getting the ball in the hands of their best players all year longYeah, but too bad Wilson still can't block. This is true. Bradshaw fumbled as well they just kept possession. I'm not anointing Wilson anytime soon. Bradshaw will have to get hurt for Wilson to take over this year, but we can't discount the entire preseason because of 1 play. Wilson will get more chances. It will if he can't block AND can't hang on to the football. He ran poorly tonight? Jesus Christ himself wouldn't have been able to run through the #### the OL put out tonight in the 1st half. The entire preseason, as in the Bears game? Because the other 2 games he produced the following:Jets 8 for 26 (3.3 YPC)NE 8 for 13 (1.6 YPC)Kid has a lot to work on, mainly holding on to the ball and blocking. Bradshaw fumbled as well. yes the O line was bad which I think that helps Wilson as he ran two sweeps to the outside and is a big play guy maybe can break a few long ones, as he is more likely than Bradshaw tooIt will if he can't block AND can't hang on to the football. It will help them in situational plays. But the OLine sucking is even more reason to have a good blocker in there to help keep Eli upright. He'll have some long TD's, no doubt. What play did he fumble on? I missed part of the game so may have missed it, but the stat line says he did not fumble. Also, Bradshaw ran decisively tonight and with confidence. 2nd quarter, recovered by an offensive lineman. I expect Wilson to slip right back in next week and barring any further fumbles earn more and more of a role as the year rolls on as the Giants clearly need his game-breaking ability. what we saw from Bradshaw tonight confirms his pop is gone. they need a better runner and have one on the roster if he can handle the ballWhat play did he fumble on? It is the blind love for anything rookie, while completely ignoring proven studs. This thread is truly for the hopeful David Wilson fans. Do you mean "if" or "when"??Certainly Bradshaw is going to get the lion's share if he's healthy, but I highly doubt that holds true all year. I think now is the time to go after Wilson if you own Bradshaw, but he may be had even easier if Wilson only sees return time the next couple weeks as well. Wilson will only be relevant this year if Bradshaw gets injured.
I definitely mean "if" not "when" -- injuries are simply unpredictable. If you have super-deep benches sure Wilson is worth a prayer. But in most of my leagues with benches of 6-7 players, you just can't afford to hold dead weight and hope for an injury.Do you mean "if" or "when"??Certainly Bradshaw is going to get the lion's share if he's healthy, but I highly doubt that holds true all year. Bradshaw has been lucky enough to not have a major injury yet, more hampering ones, but he's coming off a season where he looked the least impressive that I can remember as well.
yeah, I hear ya.the scouting report I read actually said this was a bit of a problem in college.based on the play, I'd say he ran into traffic with reckless abandon and someone went after the ball and he wasnt ready for it. It sure threw some cold water on a hot player that's for sure.anyhow, it usually takes at least a half season to teach someone to change the way they carry the ball. Maybe a full season. He's still good to hold as a handcuff to Bradshaw, but I dont know that I'd expect much more from him this year.'Ministry of Pain said:Fumble was a bit of a downer
He did fumble the ball. but he doesnt have a long history of doing it like wilson does. Based on this I expect the coach will be more forgiving of Bradshaw than he will be of Wilson.
