Justin Tuck wants to see David Wilson score many more touchdowns. But the New York Giants defensive captain has made it clear that he wants to see Wilson retire his end zone backflip touchdown celebration."I told him several times never to do that again," Tuck said Wednesday. "We're going to have another talk about not doing it. Everyone knows how athletic he is, but the last thing we need is him having some tweak injury by showing off to the crowd.
I can definitely see limiting the risk of being injured being something that's discussed. What's riskier health wise.. doing a standing backflip, or doing the salsa? No one would think you'd break your leg jumping on home plate, how do you think Kendry Morales felt when it happened to him? sometimes showing off is just unnecessary.Big Wilson fan.. but I can see Tuck's side here. His teammates not wanting him to do backflips is kinda silly. Wilson could do them in his sleep, He's not going to get injured, LOL. It's more about him being a rookie, but if I was Wilson, I'd keep doing them unless ordered to stop by Coughlin. It's his trademark. Or possibly wait until my 2nd year, then no way I'm not doing it then. Look at all the other dumb stuff players do after TDs. It's a non-issue, IMO.I believe Wilson has more upside than Richardson or Martin working in that offense. I look for him to have a huge season next year.
Justin Tuck needs to shut the hell up, a back flip isn't excessive celebration, he doesn't spike the ball he doesn't scream at people like Bradshaw does, he doesn't salsa dance, if that is his touchdown celebration then it is just fine. Some of Wilson's teammates aren't happy about his back flips:http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/8741030/david-wilson-new-york-giants-asked-stop-post-touchdown-backflips

tell that to this guyHis teammates not wanting him to do backflips is kinda silly. Wilson could do them in his sleep, He's not going to get injured, LOL. It's more about him being a rookie
No. He did it on opening day every year and only opening day, not even in the playoffs, and retired before he was 40Wasn't Ozzie Smith doing backflips every game into his 40's?If i tried doing a backflip it would be a injury risk but for Wilson it isn't a real risk. That being said, I am probably starting Wilson this week so I hope we find out if he continues them
I'm in the exact the boat. I'm leaning BJGE at the moment. Too many unknowns with Wilson currently.I hate these ### #### Thursday night games, my choice is between BJE and Wilson, but BJE plays tonight. If I knew Bradshaw was out I'd start Wilson. Stupid NFL.
Seems like the flips would be high risk for turf-toe.Rotoworld:Wasn't Ozzie Smith doing backflips every game into his 40's?

Of course in a league with not much room on the bench then Wilson could have been dropped BUT not one of my leagues plays like that..That's easy to be said (especially now), but the fact is smaller bench leagues make that very difficult. Yes, Wilson had this upside and many knew it, but it took Bradshaw to get hurt (expected), then Brown to get hurt (for those who knew his history, still a good shot to happen) for this to take place. In this case, the lotto ticket was cashed, at least for a night.this is why i said you have to just hold this guy all year...
Dont worry my friend. Im GUARANTEEING at least an 18 carry/106 yd 1td, 4 rec 35 yd stat line out of wilson this week. And, that is absolutely a ground floor estimate, I wouldnt be surprised if he were a top 3 or 4 back this week.He will usher many of us into the playoffs this week.I'm way too excited for this guy.Which means expect like 14 for 42
Coach Tom Coughlin expressed confidence that rookie David Wilson can physically handle 20-25 carries in a game if necessary."This guy has very, very good leg strength and he has got one ingredient that you look for in everybody and it's stamina," said Coughlin. "He has outstanding stamina. It appears that he can go all day long. So those are going to be assets he needs right down the stretch here." At this point, Wilson is the favorite to start for the Giants at Atlanta on Sunday. He's a legit RB1 option.Source: Ralph Vacchiano on Twitter

140 yards as his floor plus probably another 200 returning so 340 min? Sounds right. Probably will have about 500 yards on average. I feel better.Dont worry my friend. WOW....super conservative and very low estimate imo.If Bradshaw does not play I think 15 for 70, 2 for 20, .5 td.
Good info. Feel like he is getting into must-start territory. Drinking the kool-aid for sureCoach Tom Coughlin expressed confidence that rookie David Wilson can physically handle 20-25 carries in a game if necessary."This guy has very, very good leg strength and he has got one ingredient that you look for in everybody and it's stamina," said Coughlin. Ahmad Bradshaw (knee, foot) was held out of practice again on Friday.Bradshaw had his knee heavily wrapped and did see time on the stationary bike for the first time this week. The major New York papers have been almost unanimous in predicting that Bradshaw will not play at Atlanta on Sunday. The Giants' injury designations are typically announced around 1:00 ET on Fridays.
So, he only scores half a TD?If Bradshaw does not play I think 15 for 70, 2 for 20, .5 td.

Game ChangerAhmad Bradshaw - RB - Giants Ahmad Bradshaw (knee, foot) has been ruled out for Week 15 at Atlanta. It's hardly surprising news, as the signs had been increasingly pointing toward rookie David Wilson making his first start with Kregg Lumpkin chipping in on passing downs. As we've opined several times throughout the week, the explosive Wilson is a legit RB1 option against a Falcons defense allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing backs.

He gets into the end zone only to somersault his way back out.'Shawnky said:So, he only scores half a TD?'Sabertooth said:If Bradshaw does not play I think 15 for 70, 2 for 20, .5 td.
I tend towards the conservative side.'ImTheScientist said:WOW....super conservative and very low estimate imo.'Sabertooth said:If Bradshaw does not play I think 15 for 70, 2 for 20, .5 td.
Looks like he will still return kicksMy link'ChargerPride said:My question is, since I'm in a return yardage league as well, is he still gonna be the kick returner this week. If do, he could have a huge week.
Even with Wilson moved into a starting role, Coughlin said he wants Wilson to continue returning kicks. They have a few other players ready just in case. Wilson amassed 227 kickoff return yards last week as well as one return touchdown.
"As far as I’m concerned, he’s going to stay there," Coughlin said. "How many he gets, that’s another question, but I’m not taking him out of that. Last week with the plus-49 field position for the day, it was quite a bit different than the -15 the week before."
90 total yards and .5 TDs is conservative? Ahmad Bradshaw is averaging 89 yards and .4 TDs per game (and he plays extensively in the passing game while Wilson likely will not).I tend towards the conservative side.'ImTheScientist said:WOW....super conservative and very low estimate imo.'Sabertooth said:If Bradshaw does not play I think 15 for 70, 2 for 20, .5 td.
So you expect lower? I'll take the over. Just go on record please so we can bump your post.90 total yards and .5 TDs is conservative? Watch out for the Torain train!Frankly, Ryan Torain is a better pass blocker. Has a lot more experience. Prolly Eli will prefer Torain as the grind it out back. Love Wilson, hope he does great, but don't expect another 2 TD game. David Wilson will start. But another RB will start too. I expect that to be Ryan Torain.CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Giants coaches have only mentioned Lumpkin as getting some snaps when Wilson comes out. I wouldn't expect it to result in many touches.'OG_GF said:Watch out for the Torain train!Frankly, Ryan Torain is a better pass blocker. Has a lot more experience. This is misinformation. PFF rated Torain a poor pass blocker when he was with the Redskins.'OG_GF said:Watch out for the Torain train!Frankly, Ryan Torain is a better pass blocker. I'd expect the other KR will be used and Wilson will get some if those returners aren't effective. Is there anyone who thinks Coughlin is bluffing about using Wilson o beat kick returns?
I suspect he'll also look at the score. If ATL gets ahead, I'd expect they use Wilson.I'd expect the other KR will be used and Wilson will get some if those returners aren't effective. Is there anyone who thinks Coughlin is bluffing about using Wilson o beat kick returns?
I agree and possibly on kick offs to start the game, start the 2nd half or one at the end of each half if there is only a few seconds left on the clock.I suspect he'll also look at the score.
