***David Wilson Bandwagon*** (1 Viewer)

I think Wilson will be the talk of the league tomorrow... one way or another. He either goes off, or fumbles again & is done for the year. We'll see.

This is hilarious that this David Wilson thread is at 55 pages and counting because it is obvious there are some big time David Wilson Hater's and people that try to discredit the young man. First of all Dwilson is 22 years old and was always a mvp type caliber player even before he was 19... Here is something you probably didn't know.

He was first-team all-district and all-region selection and the Gatorade Player of the Year for Virginia. In 2009, he played for USA Football's U.S. Under-19 National Team that won the 2009 IFAF Under-19 World Championship in Canton, Ohio and was named the tournament's MVP, rushing for 427 yards and eight touchdowns in three games.[2]

Here is some highlights on the above mentioned player from 2011 where he had over 1700 yards rushing, was by far the team's best player and leader. He had most yards after contact in the NCAA that year. He is 5-9 206 lbs with a BMI of 30.4..... Here are some clips

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-m-Ev5amfM

The speech he puts on truly shows the heart, determination and will power he has and I love watching this vid as it gets me PUMPED, hyped and ready to rip someones head off as you could tell the rest of the locker room was ready to go kick some ###.... All this hate because the guy had a bad first game and had first game jitters needs to stop. Dwilson is a Superb runner and can be one of the best Backs in the league within a few years. Yes he has to improve with ball security and stand up and take on blockers but the guy is young and you can't ignore his talent. He is fast, has great vision, stronger then he looks and people give him credit for.... Do I need to say anymore guys.... For all the other Dwilson supporters out there I appreciate your awesome knowledge and positive vibes... All you Dwilson haters can go get in another thread and start talking stupid... Im all in on Dwilson and will be starting him vs Den as I think he has a huge game and will be running angry.
I had no idea he was the Gatorade player of the year. That changes everything.
HAAAAA!

I agree - I'm starting him this week since I really don't have options.. I'm sort of thinking he's going to rebound this week. Let's hope at least.. more for him than my fantasy team..

I see two fumbles and the old man strokes out on the sidelines.

I bailed on Wilson for a reason after last week.

He wasn't even trying to protect the ball.....the Ole' Loaf of Bread syndrome.

Peace

Give him another year or two with the Giants. He will be making those speeches and I can't wait. This kid has heart

I really question if you even watched that game. The bolded is not close to true.

anyway, he's currently in my lineup but I am seriously considering benching him for Hartline....keep going back and forth on it.

I would start him. Who else is going to take away touches from him? One bad week doesn't make a top 20 RB all of a sudden a dud. If he gets touches he gets points and hes going to break one. Thats the bottom line.

Despite the bitter taste in my mouth from last week when he and Calvin cost me a win, I'm rolling with him this week over a banged up (foot) D. Rich in ppr. I'll keep y'all posted on my fantasy team that no one cares about.

I keep flip flopping but I'm rolling with Wilson. If he goes off on my bench I will be sick to my stomach. Can't do much worse than last week.

Yeah, I think this is all about if you feel you need a floor guy or the ceiling guy. Cause his floor right now is fumble on the second play of the game and benched. His ceiling coul be like 20 carries for 150 yards and 2 TDs. So you just have to weigh that type of thing vs who you're playing.

Just traded Ryan Mathews for Wilson straight up but have to leave Wilson on the bench this week because we can only start 2RB in this league and I already started the other fumbler Ridley on Thursday and I Doug Martin is my #1

Off topic I really hate Thursday games

Playing the what if game, what if Wilson fumbles on the first series? Wouldn't Scott have another crack at it? Is Wilson on double secret probation? Shouldn't Scott at least be rostered if the space is available?
No.

The Giants are not going to give up on Wilson ...they have made that clear as day.

Scott was an injury away from being cut and never heard from again.

If necessary Jacobs and/or Cox would start over Scott in time or they would sign another RB.
The first part is correct

the second and third parts are just crazy talk
I guess? If you have no clue and dont follow the Giants.

Scott was absolutely going to be cut before Andre Brown was injured - If that's crazy talk you should bring it up with the Giants and Giant beat writers

There is about 0% chance that Scott will be the featured back on this or any team. He's fast but that's it. Cox has been much more impressive. And Scott is injured.

If you think it's crazy talk ... go get Scott on your roster
you make a good point about Andre Brown (who was cut once befpore by the Giants in 2010)., but there's no way Cox is even close to being ready to play significant time and Jacobs is old and may be good for spot duty (3d doen, pass pro, a few carries), but ask him to carry a significant portion of the load and he'll end up on the injury report where he spent most of last season.

Scott is fast and the offense was able to move the ball with him in the backfield. He's the stop-gap and Coughlin will go that way if he has to. If they didin't think they had adequate backup they would have signed a guy like McGahee and not Jacobs.
actually Jacobs was brought in to fill the gap created by Brown, so he was absolutely making the team regardless

Wrong ... They didn't intend to carry this many RBs. The only reason that they are now is because of the uncertainty of the situation

First few series for WIlson were pretty sad. Literally sad.

He's walking with the ball with two hands, ten fingers and half his helmet. They may as well take him out if this keeps up.

Ugh....not even on the field. Coughlin just going with Jacobs.

Coughlin is absolutely ruining this kid.
Yeah, its all Coughlin's fault the kid isn't playing. Just like its not Tebow's fault he is not starting for the Broncos Jets Patriots Montreal
wilson definitely shares some of the blame but jeez this is ridiculous and is completely ridiculous. Yu dont bench your first round rb for and old guy who was sitting on the couch last week

That is a good comparison. Wilson is by far better then Jacobs, who looks god awful too. Tebow isn't even on the same planet as Brady or Manning.

I never liked the anti-Coughlin talk b/c the kid fumbled twice...so you gotta bench him at some point. And 2 is as reasonable a number as there is.

HOWEVER, now seeing the corrective action the coaches have taken which is essentially asking him to completely lose who he is as a runner as some sort of sacrifice in exchange for not fumbling; it just doesn't make sense from a coaching standpoint. You may as well not play him then. You cant change the essence of the player and DWilson's essence was gone in those first two series.

Let's see if someone upstairs noticed, talked to Coughlin or Wilson over the headset...and they adjust now. That's the only hope for this game. Otherwise, there's no way he's effective in any way in this game.

Exactly. And it's not like Wilson has done anything wrong today so far. He hasn't made any gains, but neither has Jacobs. I don't see how this helps the Giants in the bigger picture.

I noticed you left Sanchez out.

But, you'll excuse me if I trust a coach with Coughlin's pedigree over you when it comes to evaluating who should be playing , and how much, on his team.

I've been watching his blocking, and admittedly while I haven't seen the whole game, the plays I've seen he is doing a solid job. Much more active and focused on blitz pickup.
