League Rules

These are the rules by which the Bar Stool QB’s Fantasy Football League shall be governed. These rules were accepted by all the league members in the year 2008 and shall be considered inviolate.

Division Alignment

Owners/team Division placement is as follows:

Scotch – 4 Teams

Beer – 4 Teams

Bourbon – 4 Teams

Per league vote, the divisions will be randomly realigned every two years. The last realignment was in 2008. The next realignment will be the Spring of 2010.

Fees

The owners’ fee will be $100

Deadlines

1. The owners’ fee for the upcoming season is due by August 1. If payment is not received by that date, one draft position will be lost, regardless if moving into the next round, per day until the payment is received. You can email the commissioner, if you have any questions or problems.

2. In general, Starting Lineups are to be submitted five minutes prior to the 1 PM Sunday kickoff. For players in games other than the early Sunday game, the deadline for activation or deactivation of that player is 5 minutes before that players scheduled kickoff. This includes late and evening Sunday games, all Saturday, Thursday, and Monday games.

3. The Trading Deadline for one owner to trade players with another owner will be by the start of the week #11 games.

4. Once the 13 week regular season has concluded, only teams having a scheduled Playoff or Toilet Bowl game for the following week will be allowed access to the waiver wire for the upcoming week. This rule applies through out the playoffs.

5. The 3 Keeper designations by each owner must be turned in by Midnight of the second Friday of August. No exceptions! All owners can turn in their list at anytime and can change players on their list until the deadline if they choose to do so.

Lottery / Draft

1. Our Lottery to determine the first 4 teams draft position will be done by a Random Number Generator (RNG) Method. The RNG is provided by the Irony Games website. It can be found at http://www.irony.com/mailroll.html, a few changes will need to be made to the defaults that are currently given. The following changes should be made:

Sides: d6

Dice/Roll: 3

Mods/Roll: use default (don't touch)

# Rolls: 7

Rolls/line: use default (don't change)

E-mail Comments: leave blank.

E-mail Recipients: ldarnell@gmail.com, jim@corrundum.net,

E-mail Subject: Bar Stool QB /

After making the above changes, click “Submit,” the roll will begin and you will see the results of the roll displayed in a web page. That info will also be sent to the Commissioners.

Once all of the four owners (teams that did not make the past year’s playoffs) are done, the 7 rolls will be added together. The following bonus will be added to each to each respective owner, worst record +40 points, 2nd worst + 30 points, 3rd worst +20 points, and the 4th worst gets a +10 point bonus. The individual with the highest total will get the 1st Draft pick, the second highest will get the 2nd Draft pick and so forth.

If there is a tie between owners it will be broken in the following Head to Head manner.

The highest individual roll (ex; One owner might have 16 as their highest, the other 14). If still tied...

The second highest individual roll (Take the next highest of each). If still tied…

The third highest individual roll. If still tied then…

The forth highest, if still tied then the same process will go on until the tie is broken. If all seven are the same, then the tiebreaker will be determined by which email was received first by the commissioners.

2. The DRAFT will be held in late August. Directions and other information will be emailed separately.

3. If an owner can’t attend the draft, they are obligated to send a replacement to pick their team. Draft via phone or online will not be permitted UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

4. The draft will be 13 rounds since we already have our 3 Keepers. The even rounds will be in reverse order, better known as a Serpentine Draft.

5. A 3-minute time limit will be strictly enforced between picks. If an owner has not made a selection within this time limit, they would have to complete there roster via the free agent pool.

Keepers

1. Owners will place the Keeper tag on three players from the previous year’s roster.

2. No two Keepers can be kept at the same position. Any combination can be kept as long as it follows this rule.

3. There are no limitations on how many years a player can be kept by a given owner.

Rosters / Transactions

1. No team can have more or less than 16 positions filled at any time.

2. Any player not on the roster of a league owner is eligible to be picked up as a free agent. One player must be dropped from the roster to make room for the new player.

3. Trade Committee - Our league will have a trade committee made up of three owners (Jim Koennicke, Barry Hall and Luke Darnell), if there is a questionable trade, they will decide if it will be approved or disapproved. It is not the job of this committee to keep owners from making stupid decisions. The only questionable trade acts are collusion with another player or deliberate acts which are detrimental to the league as a whole (e.g. “tanking” the season).

Transaction / Trade windows

1. Anytime you perform a transaction (add/drop), this can affect your starting line-up. Your new additions can come in as active players, thus throwing off the correct number of players you had designated. It is each owners responsibility to make sure their line up is correct and turning in on time.

2. The first day for FA Transactions or Trades to take place is the Monday one week before the NFL regular season starts.

3. Current year draft picks can be traded before or during the draft in the off-season only. No future draft picks can be traded for players or any other picks in the future or present.

4. No player waived on any given day can be acquired on the same calendar day. This will be heavily enforced.

TRANSACTIONS FOR 2008

Automated auction process to do add/drops (FAAB) for free agents to be picked up via a blind bidding system that will be handled automatically by CBS' system.

Bids will be submitted via the CBS website and process on Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night and Saturday night.

There is no first come first serve.

You will have $100 dollars to start the season.

ALL free agents must be acquired this way.

There are no Zero bids. Minimum of $1.

Roster / Position Limitations

1. There will be a roster limitation at each position imposed during the entire season. The following is a list of the maximum & minimum players an owner can carry at each specified position.

Position Maximum Minimum

QB 4 1

RB 7 1

WR 8 2

TE 3 1

PK 3 1

DEF 3 1

Lineups

1. Each team can chose between the following formations for their starting line up:

a. Pro Set - 1 Quarterback, 2 Running Backs, 3 Wide Receivers, 1 Tight End, 1 Kicker, and 1 Defense/Special Team.

b. Wish Bone – 1 Quarterback, 3 Running Backs, 2 Wide Receivers, 1 Tight End, 1 Kicker, and 1 Defense/Special Team.

c. Run-n-Shoot – 1 Quarterback, 1 Running Back, 4 Wide Receivers, 1 Tight End, 1 Kicker, and 1 Defense/Special Team

2. All starting lineups must be selected by Sunday at five minutes prior to game time. The previous week’s lineup will be used if no lineup is selected. If there is a Thursday game, five minutes prior to game time on Thursday is the deadline to activate/deactivate players playing in the Thursday game. If there is a Saturday game, five minutes prior to game time Saturday is the deadline to activate players playing in the Saturday game.

Thursday and Saturday game players must be either activated or deactivated by five minutes prior to game time on their respective game day. If one of these players is in one of your starting roster spots beyond the deadline he will remain in that spot for that week’s game. There will be no exceptions to this rule.

General Rules

1. Tie breaker - If 2 teams tie, the total points earned by the non-starting eligible

alternates (bench) will be tallied. Whichever team has the most alternate points will have 1 point added to their overall score and that team then will wins the game.

2. There will be a 13 game regular season. Each team plays divisional opponents twice and all the other teams in the league once.

3. There are 6 playoff spots awarded. The three Division winners will be seeded

1 - 3 based upon regular season overall record. There are then 3 wildcard spots from the rest of the league. These are determined by the next best winning percentages.

4. After the Playoff teams are seeded 1 – 6, the two highest seeded teams will have a first round bye in week 14. Thus, week #14 will have #3 vs. #6, #4 vs. #5. Each round thereafter will have the highest remaining seeded team playing the lowest remaining seeded team.

5. The remaining 6 teams that do not make the playoffs will play in their own Toilet Bowl Playoffs. The six remaining teams will be seeded by record. Thus, week #14 will have #9 vs. #12 and #10 vs. #11, with #7 and #8 getting a bye into the next round. Week #16 (The Toilet Bowl) will be the winner’s in week #15.
