DeAngelo Williams Status (1 Viewer)

The Panthers have a bye in week 9, so maybe Williams will be back by Week 10.
But probably not be near 100% at that point, from the sounds of the first poster. He is on waiver in one of my leagues (10 team redraft). Unless DFoster gets injured in the next few games or really under performs, I would guess DW's role is going to be next to nothing for the rest of the year. They arent going to rush back a #1 pick, when they have a capable guy in front of him....

im not sure he has a high ankle sprain

They upgraded him from out to doubtful last week and I havent read anywhere that he has the dreaded high ankle sprain

Based merely on an amalgamation of info I've read, I believe Williams did indeed have a high ankle sprain, but perhaps not a "severe" high ankle sprain. He is also supposedly healing "surprisingly fast" and doing much better. I personally would not expect them to rush him back, especially with the bye week on the horizon (Week 9) and imagine he'll be back in action at or around Week 10 if the news I am regurgitating is indeed accurate.

I maintain Williams is a good guy to stash away if you can afford to do so. Best of luck.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams missed practice Thursday, a day after returning to the field following a sprained right ankle.

Williams, the Panthers first-round draft pick, remains questionable for Sunday's game against Dallas.

"We just follow what the medical people say," coach John Fox said. "We meet on that every day, and that's the direction we went today."

Williams, who had been serving as the No. 2 running back behind DeShaun Foster, was injured against Cleveland on Oct. 8 and has missed the past two games.

Linebacker Thomas Davis, who missed last Sunday's loss in Cincinnati with bruised ribs, practiced for the second straight day Thursday and remains questionable.
