This has nothing to do with your perceived degree. Now an actual degree will have required classes that focus on the "major". If you have not figured this out yet stop wasting your money. No accredited university transfers an "associate degree". Maybe try UOP?

Ok, in California the junior college system is very closely tied to the two University system the state offers. If you get an associates from a JC there, while the degree itself may not transfer, pretty much all the classes will, with some exceptions like vocational classes. There's nothing wrong with going to a JC before a four year university. It can be very cost effective. None of this applies to Em of course, since he's not really in college.

I passed an AP test in high school but was told during admissions that it wasn't accepted, only to find out halfway through my first semester that it actually was and I got 3 units credit. Of course, by this time I was halfway through the course that it gave me credit for and ended up finishing it to get an actual letter grade.

UPDATE:

I'm going to e-mail the admissions offices of these schools tomorrow (I'm off work) with the listing of all the classes required for the Associates I am about to complete.

It will be interesting to see who accepts what. I chose my current college because it was the cheapest accreddited university in the United States.

But I will definitely get back to you guys.

It's accredited. It actually doesn't have a terrible reputation in Michigan. Their known as a career skills school. People from Michigan know what Baker is when I mention it. It's been around since 1918.
