Deep shots & reaches - wr3 and flex spots (1 Viewer)

We all know that if we have Jamal Charles, Calvin, etc.that we are starting them. Those are the easy lineup decisions. Where it always gets murky is wr3 and flex (for me at least).

Who are you taking a swing for the fences with today at your wr3 and flex?

For me, I'm taking a leap of faith with hunter over k. Wright as my wr3 (standard scoring ANSI feel hunter has better chance at a td)

In my flex (and I'm sure many will think I'm nuts and I probably am lol), I'm taking a HUGE risk with Travis kelce. He's in there over Moreno , ingram, Jordan Reed, and Kendall wright.

Lets see if this works, lol

Who are your reaches for today? Go big or go home baby!

Good luck today!

No reaches. It's week 1. I'll reach when we've actually seen what all these teams look like in 2014.
I hear ya bro. I just like going with my gut. I'll start my studs, but after them when I look at my fringe choices (usually at wr3 and flex) I'm willing to go against the grain if my gut is telling me something.

In those spots I'm always looking for a leg up. A way to insert the highest potential scoring possible. So I swing for the fences.

The counterpoint to my perspective, of course, is also that it's week one, and that no one is really a reach since we have no new data yet. May your risk-reward plays bear delicious, football-sized fruit.

Various guys I'm playing in different leagues out of necessity:

1. Santonio Holmes and Cody Latimer as flex (32 team league)

2. Denard Robinson, Juwan Thompson, Trey Burton as RB2 and 2 flex (another 32 team league)

3. Antonio Gates as flex (maybe not a deep shot, but choosing him over Green) (16 team league)

I don't think Kelce is a HUGE risk today. KC's lack of quality WR's and Titans preseason struggles adapting to the 3-4 make him a decent flex play. Alex Smith is adept at throwing the seam pass a TE's bread and butter. I have him in at flex over D.Allen and M.Austin.

:goodposting:

I feel the same, I am rolling the dice with him in my 16 team league, at flex. With Bowe out, I am wiling to take the chance that he can be productive.

.5 PPR, Brandin Cooks in @ Flex, Ridley on my bench. I cannot withstand a repeat of week 1 last year (NEP @ Buff) when Ridley fumbles (twice in that game I think) & gets pulled. My opponent this week is favored, and I need some upside, but I still feel like Ridley is as much of a risk as Cooks.
