Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett surprised everyone Thursday by saying rookie DeJon Gomes will start the rest of the season at strong safety. Gomes has a very nice matchup against the giants this Sunday. Recommended pickup if you want a DB with top ten upside this week.

Looks like we can't trust this situation, as many predicted. Watching the game, it looked like Gomes was off the field for large stretches of the game and most of the second half. I could be wrong, but I barely sighted him.

Yeah you can't risk a Shanahan in a fantasy playoff final, no way, but it could be an interesting situation to observe for next season, lot's of players that see playing time in the end of a season end up starting for the team the next one, like Lee or Chancellor last season !

Gomes started but only played 20 snaps to Atogwe's 43. Doughty played all game. Not going to be surprised if it's reversed this week.

I'm not going to be surprised if Gomes beats him out at the same time. Gomes is a terrific tackler. If Jackson didn't lead the league in missed tackles last season, he was close.
