Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson, speaking with reporters during this morning's practice, indicated safety Delano Howell is dealing with a potentially serious neck issue that could dramatically reshape the position battle at strong safety.

Howell, who has missed the better part of the past two weeks with a neck injury, has visited multiple medical experts and is due to visit another this week, Grigson said.

The issue appears to be related to the neck injury Howell suffered last season, when he spent 10 games on injured reserve.
