Delayed Effect Trades (1 Viewer)

Wondering if this is a common thing in leagues around here:

Team A trades a player to Team B, effective now.

Team B returns a player, effective next week or the week after.

Obviouly, you'd only do this under certain circumstances, and it is perfectly legal under the league rules, but I just thought I would ask people's opinion on whether this is something your league allows, and what you think of the idea.

I guess if the rules allow it it's, "ok", but it sure seems like player borrowing/renting to me.

Put yourself in the place of the teams they are playing. Do they think it fair that they have to play against the rosters of both teams ? If you don't have a rule against it, you may want to consider one for next year.

That's a bunch of crap.

The only type of delayed trades that are allowed in my leagues are conditional trades and even then, the delayed compensation is only in a pick or FA cash nature.

Example: I trade a player to another team for a 2nd round pick. The guy is an injury risk so the other owner says that if he doesn't play at keast 10 games this year, I have to give him a 4th round pick back.

I would never play in a league that allowed this kinda stuff.

Pretty mickey mouse stuff. I would never play in a league that allows this. You agree on a trade, the trade happens on that date. Could you imagine if this happened in the NFL? Ridiculous.
