I think this was a spare parts trade.Davis is JAG and likely a back-up. Pryor could be playing alongside Peppers. If he's playing centerfield in Gregg's offense then he could have value with big play scoring.
I don't disagree that this has very little impact on either team. Pryor may be better suited to play FS because of his obvious athleticism. They don't have much proven there really. Again, I don't think there much to get excited about.I think this was a spare parts trade.
Pryor might have a few high tackle games, but he only gets PT if Peppers is the suck.
Pryor as a center fielder? Is that right? That would shock me, and I would start any WR vs the Browns that week.
But who? Roto currently shows Tank freaking Carder at Mike. I know that's not going to hold up, but this team seems to be very short on talent at LB, not even recently drafted young talent like they loaded up on at WR/DL the last couple of years.Davis became replaceable once Collins was re-signed and Williams was brought in. There isn't any depth now, but this move also opens up reps for young guys to show they're capable in case anything happens to either Collins or Kirksey. Honestly, on the field, probably won't notice much of a difference since Davis isn't any good. More big play potential, but that's really it. Juice <> squeeze.
Pryor is just a change of scenery dart throw. There are a lot of bodies in the defensive backfield, some more interesting than others. Figuring out what to do with all of them will probably be Williams' biggest short term challenge.
Olugbode, Bello, Alexander, and Burgess. Carder will stick due to his special teams role and can serve as an emergency safety valve. If none of those guys stick out then someone(s) will get axed elsewhere Sep 1 that can step in and fill-in for injury.Hankmoody said:But who? Roto currently shows Tank freaking Carder at Mike. I got cut off earlier but that was kind of where I was going, and was wondering if maybe Pryor was this guy? Williams did this to a tee with Barron at STL and pulled off a huge reclamation of a throw-away S.Olugbode, Bello, Alexander, and Burgess. The biggest takeaway from this move should be the Browns plan to spend the majority of their time with at least 5 DB's on the field.
Yep, and given the price paid to acquire him I think it's worth it to find out. There are plenty of potential contingency plans in case it isn't working either. Also, while this team expects to be better in 2017, eyes are still focused on 2018. While unlikely, Pryor could be an answer to some question in 2018. Athleticism? No offense, but Pryor is garbage in space. He got burned repeatedly in coverage and takes terrible angles for tackles. Just watch some of the games from last year. It's one highlight after another against him. The Jets couldn't get rid of both of their safeties quick enough. Pryor also has a crappy attitude and the Jets are trying to get rid of the bad apples.saintfool said:I don't disagree that this has very little impact on either team.
