UPDATE: Gubernatorial candidate Hulsey to hand out Klan hoods

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Democratic candidate for governor Brett Hulsey plans to hand out white Ku Klux Klan hoods to Wisconsin Republicans to highlight what he says are their racist policies. :o
Hulsey on Thursday came into the state Capitol press room to show off a white hood he says he made with his daughter's sewing machine using curtain material he purchased for $1.

Hulsey, a state representative from Madison, is running a long-shot campaign for the Democratic nomination against the better funded and more broadly supported candidate Mary Burke.

Hulsey says he will attempt to hand out the KKK hoods to Republicans as they gather Friday for the state party convention in Milwaukee.

State GOP executive director Joe Fadness calls it a "reprehensible, vile stunt" that should outrage everyone.

Republican party hat!

They need to own up to their racism, which is what I am trying to highlight," Hulsey said.

Yup.

He didn't pass out the hoods at this weekend's republican convention. He showed up in a confederate uniform (one put together from items he bought at Goodwill). He admitted to the media that the Klan hoods bit was just a ploy to get the media to show up. He also walked around backwards for some reason or another. Didn't really pay attention. The guys a nut job.

Madison Rep. Brett Hulsey did not follow through on his vow to distribute Ku Klux Klan hoods to Republicans gathered for their annual state convention to protest what he described as Gov. Scott Walker and the Wisconsin GOP’s “racist record.”

“Sometimes even I have to pull back from the edge,” Hulsey said Friday, admitting to reporters he never seriously intended to hand out the three handmade hoods he left folded on the front seat of his car. “My goal here was to get press attention, and I got it,” Hulsey said.

this guy has got some pretty crazy ideas but in the end i do not think i could get behind a platform about wearing st vincent de paul confederate uniforms and walking backwards one becuase the uniforms would probably smell bad and two because you would probably walk in to a band saw at work and die so i do not support this guy take that to the bank brohans
