DEN & BUF 2011 Schemes (1 Viewer)

With Denver moving back into the 4-3, are we looking at DJ Williams possibly having more production this year than he was in the 3-4 they were [trying] to run? He had a good year but does this put him back in that top tier?

I was also wonder wtf the Bills have going on. Are they committed to the 3-4 now, or are they going to be running the multiple front all year? Obviously the name in there is Poz, I assume we can expect the usual 100+ tackles out of him no matter what they are in (as long as he knocks it off with those freak injuries). Do we know (pre-FA) who BUF plans on trotting out in the safety positions?

Just some spring time musings, anyone have any thoughts?

I was worried about DJ when they announced the switch back to a 4-3, and then for a few minutes after they drafted Von Miller. It's been made pretty clear that DJ is going to be their every down WLB, and I think that's great for his IDP production. He had quite a few sacks last year, and that may go down, but his solo tackle number should be way up there. Von Miller's 3rd down role should be rushing the passer from the end, so I think DJ has a big safe role this season.

Good news for both

DJ Williams will still be the guy as teams will want to run all over Denver with no DT to talk about and Dumervil against run not strength

POz will be great thanks to the addition of Dareus. He will be free to roam all over the place and is the most talented LB on team by alot

I own both in my home dynasty league and love them.

Williams doesn't have the same ceiling he did as a MLB or WILB over the past few seasons, but I think he still belongs within the top 20. It's not yet clear what John Fox wants to do. It won't surprise me to see some hybrid fronts -- using Von Miller as an Elephant or morphing into a 3-4 at times -- but Williams' position should be tackle-friendly in all scenarios. He'll play every down, too. A major issue will be how well Nate Irving plays, especially with the relatively weak group of defensive tackles in front of him. If he struggles, Williams could crack the top ten. If not, I think I'd put him in a LB2 with upside tier.

The Bills may play a 4-3 at times, but this draft beefed up their 3-4 personnel. Swing DE/NT in Dareus and thumping ILB in Sheppard. Merriman could finally be ready to join the mix as a rush OLB. A similar situation to Denver, but I think Posluszny is probably a better bet to hit 100 solos than Williams.I think the frontrunners at safety are George Wilson and Jairus Byrd, with Da'Norris Searcy in the mix longer term at SS. I don't the think the Bills will re-sign Whitner and I doubt Bryan Scott sees much playing time.

I think Moats will be the rush LB'er to watch on the Bills, not Merriman, just mho. I also agree Poz is a beast and if he plays every game (Which is a huge "if" for him) he will be a top 5 scoring LB.

Speaking of DenverWill Ayers have any starting DE value? is he good enough to be an every down?
I'm wondering the same. I took Michael Johnson and Ayers in the same rookie draft and seeing both as DE's this year is good news.I still remember Mayock saying(at the draft) in 3 years Ayers will be the best defensive player, but hasn't showed much as a LB. Maybe this is his year.
