Denver at Dallas (1 Viewer)

I'm sorry....I don't understand that play call.

Run it up the gut and kill the clock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dallas has timeouts. They can't kill the clock.
You still run, and force them to actually USE the timeouts. ESPECIALLY when your running game has been working. If you settle for three, the other team is still under two minutes with no timeouts
They're confident enough in their passing and the result was they did force them to actually use the timeouts while picking up 2 first downs in the process which allowed them to use all of the clock.

Have you been watching this game? The only good thing about giving it back to them with 2 minutes and no timeouts is that it might be enough time for you to score again after Dallas drives down and ties it or takes the lead.

Man, if you're a Dallas fan, this has to be heartbreaking. Signature Romo game. Awesome play with one gutwrenching mistake that cost them the game.

I don't know about anyone else. But after watching the Seattle-Indy and Denver-Dallas games, I'm mentally and physically exhausted. Today felt like the playoffs.

I'm tired of defending Romo. Great game, he clearly looks healed from his ribs and is making better decisions overall this year. Unfortunately, his reputation for costly interceptions in clutch situations isn't going anywhere.

The Boys played better than everyone thought they would, so if there's any week for a moral victory, I like what I saw today.

The sad thing is that Romo played better than Manning and he'll never get the recognition for it because the timing of his one bad throw was so terrible.

It was a fantastic game, one of the best I've watched.

I'm not a cowboys fan--but watched the game with a buddy of mine who is a great cowboys fan. The moment when Romo threw that int--with the clock and timeout situation--I said--man--the cowboys just need to let denver score a td as quick as possible. Even with the int- romo was having his best game. Dez looked unstoppable--and even the pick romo threw--it looked as though he tripped over a teammates foot as he went to throw the ball. The way the game was going--I loved romos chances of marching his team down the field with around 90 seconds to go to force overtime. The cowboys did play great---but I feel like the dallas coaching staff mismanaged the end of the game. With some opponents--you go for the stop and hope they make a mistake. I don't think you count on that mistake happening with Peyton this year.

Romo did not play better than Manning, because he lost the game for his team. He did play a great game though.

It was so obvious to let Denver score a TD. They had three chances where Denver was still trying to score. It wasn't until the announcers suggested it that both teams seem to figure out what was apparent to everyone watching on TV. Ugh. Dallas deserves to lose.

I completely agree. I mean seriously-- you're qb is having no problems moving the ball. You let them score--you have at least 90 seconds + 1 timeout to shoot for overtime. You give your team the chance to have the ball again. I'm not defending romo by any means--but the dallas coaching staff seems to be getting a big pass on this one. Simple clock assessment tells you that you let them score.

The Boys are going to win this division. 2-3 is so much better than 0-5.

Fan of the team that's lead by the other Manning,

This isn't the first time Garrett has shown to be a poor judge of game management situational play. They took away his playcalling duties to free up brain real estate to iron out all these scenarios.

Denver was deliberately not going to score a TD there.

I believe there was a tough pass play that demaryious caught--where the cowboys defender basically tackled him as he was catching the ball. There was at least a play or two where the broncos would have taken the td. Once Dallas used their timeouts--and they evaluated the time in the game--Denver realized they were better off running it down. Dallas should have conceded a td the first play after the int--that was their chance to do it--and I would bet that denver would have taken it.

Denver wasn't going to go for a TD... but what would the ruling be if a Cowboy had just picked up a Denver runner and just carried him into the end zone for the TD? "YOU'RE GONNA SCORE THOSE POINTS, MORENO!"
