maybe for barlow too?shanny loved barlow when he got drafted.
i've heard this mentioned a million times on this board.is there anything he's said in the time since that draft that's indicated he's actually interested in Barlow, or is this pretty much a dead issue?

From the Draft Pick Value Chart:#22 = 780 pts

#35 = 550

#67 = 255 (assumes this is the 3rd rder)

Looks like as even trade that could work out for both teams IF they get the players they are targeting.

Packers wanted niners 2nd for Walker...Broncos also have interest. Hmmmmm.......
My thought was that now they have a second to trade for Walker and they got 3rd rounder to boot.It also tells me that they are not going after V. Davis as rumored.

Does anyone thing this has something to do with Lendale White's stock dropping lately that Shanny thinks he can get him with the #35 pick?

I wasn't dead on, but revised picks (37, 68) exactly equal 22.

They dont need Barlow they need a real RB.
true true..loli'm only hoping, i took a flyer picked him up late in the 2005 season, just as a chance he might end up somewhere decent in 2006..

Why is everyone assuming San Fran is trying to trade up further into the first round. Chances are were targeting someone with their second round pick, but their stock has risen recently.

so if we combine their two trades this year:

They moved down 6 spots from 29 to 35 and gave up a 4th rounder

they have moved up to SF's early 3rd rounder, and moved 7 spots from 22 to 15?

Edit to add: What is with Denver and all these trades to move position before the draft. This year was ATL and now SF, last year Washington, and didn't they do something like that with Cincy a couple years ago too? Don't they know they're supposed to wait until the last second [vikings]and let the clock run out[/vikings].

not assuming, just asking.True SF has needs everywhere. but that extra 1st give you the chance to move up if needed/wanted.

That's not bad. There's alot of things about Shanny that I don't care for but he normally makes good business decsions.

wishful thinking on my part! lol..

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The San Francisco 49ers now have two first-round picks in this month's NFL draft.

The Niners acquired the 22nd overall selection in the draft from the Denver Broncos on Wednesday for picks in the second round and third round.

The Broncos will receive the 37th and 68th overall picks in the deal.

The Niners own the sixth overall pick in the draft as well as No. 22 in the first round.

The New York Jets are the only other team with two first-round picks in the April 29 draft.

The Broncos now own seven picks in the first four rounds. They have the 15th overall selection after moving up from 29th in a deal with Atlanta.

Denver had acquired the 22nd overall pick from Washington in a trade last April.

Lendale White to Denver....book it
Actually I think this deal likely means just the opposite, Denver isn't interested in him. If Denver wanted White they'd have kept their 22nd pick . I don't believe he'll be on the board for their 2nd round pick and 15 seems too early.

Could the 49ers be looking at trading for Domanick Davis?
Why? They have Barlow and Gore...maybe they are actually trying to get some players who can start on a regular basis. Have you seen their team? Holes everywhere...

Hey. Sorry, if the tone was more accusational than I intended.I'd like to think they'd get Manny Lawson, but I worry about the Cowboys at 18.

so they traded up with Atlanta but traded down with SF...what's going on here?
They got better "value" each time. Also, they moved their first pick up, and essentially moved their second pick back. Maybe they saw a big dropoff in value at around pick 20, and wanted to make sure they got above that line, but then saw the picks after 20 being similar, so they traded the other pick to get back a better 3rd rounder than the one they gave to ATL.

No way LenDale falls to the 2nd round. Carolina will pick him up before he gets out of the first. Fox has man love for White.

Are the Niners looking for a RB like Williams or Maroney?
Possibly, but I would say they are looking to take the best available 3-4 OLB. Chad Greenway if they're lucky, maybe Bobby Carpenter, or perhaps a DE like Manny Lawson.

The Broncos are probably not done dealing. Ashley Lelie has got to factor in somewhere. Reportedly a deal might be imminent. Maybe a blockbuster in on the cards.

Maybe Shanny is targeting a WR with pick #37. Only 2 WR will probably go in the first round (Jackson and Holmes) and neither is a true stud. Jackson might even drop out of the first round.

If not LenDale, then perhaps Addai, Maroney, etc. It is entirely likely that one of the top 5 RB's not named Bush will fall into the early 2nd round. Or, Shannahan has given up on the Vernon Davis lottery, and put himself in position to take the second best TE on the board, and then an obsucre RB at the end of the first.

I do think a WR in the first is a lock, however.

Hmmm. Walker for Lelie with a pick thrown in. Walker gets what he wants (out of GB), Lelie gets what he wants (to be the WR#1), and both teams come out seemingly ahead....

This is a good move for the 49ers.

1.06 - Vernon Davis

1.22 - Jason Allen/Donte Whitner/Carpenter/Lawson/Howard/ (any of which are a great upgrade)

Upgrade both sides of the ball bigtime.
