If you here about the status of Chris Simms and in particular Kyle Orton, please post only news in here.

Denver Post Broncos Blog:

It’s two hours before kickoff and Broncos QB Kyle Orton is on the Paul Brown Stadium turf, glove on his right throwing hand to help protect the stitches on his right index finger, throwing passes to Eddie Royal, Tony Scheffler and Jabar Gaffney, who is catching the ball nicely despite his broken left thumb.

Orton is in the shotgun, throwing from what would be the Bengals’ 42 yard line, and he’s throwing some passes into the end zone. Broncos trainer Steve “Greek” Antonopulos is not observing Orton, so the quarterback doesn’t appear to have any issues.

They keep showing Schefter and Mort on computers. If you could get a screenshot of them looking at FBG that'd be pretty tight (I bet Joe'd throw you a year subscription too- pure speculation though)

According to the Denver Post, #3 Tom Brandstater has been named an incative. Must mean Orton and Simms are going to give it a go.

Right guard Chris Kuper’s injured ankle will keep him out of today’s opener against the Bengals. Veteran Russ Hochstein will start in Kuper’s place. Kuper started all 16 games for the Broncos last season.

The others are: QB Tom Brandstater, S Josh Barrett, DT Chris Baker, OT Brandon Gorin, OLB Jarvis Moss, DE Le Kevin Smith, WR Brandon Lloyd.

Barrett (shoulder) and Smith (knee) are injured. The other players are inactive by coaches’ decision. Brandstater is the team’s third quarterback behind Kyle Orton and Chris Simms.

Agreed, although this was probably the plan all along as Brandstater can still be the emergency QB from the inactive list.

isn't that only in the second half? Don't know why but I think IIRC that's the rule.

You can bring in the emergency QB at any time, but if you do it before the 4th quarter then you're not allowed to bring back the other 2 QBs.
