Denver/Seattle Game Thread (1 Viewer)

If your a Seahawk fan watch to see how Locklear plays at LT, and there are 4WR's and 3DT/DE on the bubble fighting for 2-3 spots.

Yep. Jordan looks fat and slow, not sure about that signing.

Gaffney is getting a lot of looks.

Orton just threw an aweful int with a left handed lob.

My thoughts so far:

*** Deon Butler looks legit...I'm wondering if all this "Nate Burleson is back" hype is overdone

*** Eddie Royal is too low in my current projections, even if Orton sucks, he's going to be thrown to A LOT (assuming Marshall isn't a Bronco)

*** With the way they're spreading the ball around, Brandon Marshall doesn't seem long for this roster

*** Peyton Hillis is going to catch a lot of balls from Captain Check Down

*** LaMont Jordan looks like a 40-year old retired fullback, I can't see him making this team

*** Correll Buckhalter is going to be a productive fantasy option (flex/utility) until Knowshon has his legs under him

*** Brandon Stokley and Jabar Gaffney are both going to see plenty of targets, I don't see either being a compelling fantasy player as a result

*** Paging Denver's TEs, paging Denver's TEs

*** T.J. Duckett is getting all the work with the 1s...and Duckett was a Knapp/Mora guy in Atlanta, Julius Jones isn't someone I want to touch

*** Justin Forsett seems to be the more likely "lightning" to Duckett's "thunder"

*** Matt Hasselbeck is healthy again, which makes him a no brainer solid fantasy QB2 on the cheap IMHO

I was just going to post this, Hass can be had cheap and has arguably his deepest receiving corps in recent memory. As long as the back holds up he could be in for good things, he is one season removed from this:2007 SEA 16 352 562 3966 7.1 28 12 39 79 2.0 0 322 6

Hasselbeck 16/23 171 2 not bad for one half behind a young/patchwork line.

Isn't Julius Jones out with an injury? The comments from the coaching staff have been that Jones will get the majority of the carries.

"Back"? Back from what? His 2004 season where he barely managed 1000 yards? Or his 2007 season of 694 yards? Face it, the guy was never that great to begin with.

JJ is not playing 2nite. Whatever your personal opinioni is, he will be the main guy here. Duckett will be the short yardage/goalline guy.Forsett could emerge as the 3rd down back here possibly.

Mora has said all the right things, sure. But I think the combination of Jones' history of mediocrity (I'm giving mediocrity a bad name) and his injury history makes it hard to buy into coachspeak this time out. I still think Jones will lead the team in carries, but I don't see him getting many touches that matter to fantasy owners (Duckett with the short yardage, Forsett with the 3rd down passing situations).

I don't know how other Hawk fans feel, but I can't get excited about Duckett. Someone that big and he runs like he's in quicksand.

Time to start the official Forsett hype train

I don't see how the Seahawks can keep this kid on the bench. He reminds me of Slayon last year.

Not crazy about him either. I would feel no better calling him thunder than I would Julius lightning.Unless some deal is made, I think it's set in stone of the roles of the RB's. 3rd down back is up in the air, but Forsett could be that guy.

Not sure why Champ is still in there for Denver---if he goes down then this defense goes from being 24th ranked to "not being able to stop a Pop Warner team"

Defense for Denver looks really, really bad still. LBs are running into each other and not sure of their assignments.

And now when there is a challenge McD should make he sits on the flag. I know it is pre-season, but your defense is struggling. Stand up for them on 4th and 2 and throw that flag. Instead your team has just given up 17 straight.

I would be worried about the offense...most of the first string played 2.5 quarters and only produced 10 points, and couldn't score at the goaline.

I just don't understand what Denver is doing right now.

I mean, 4 straight offensive sequences and you start the play with 4 basic run plays that have no chance of going anywhere. Then you are in 2nd and long and the play is called for a 2 yard pass and then the same on 3rd.

Can we just say uncle and go home because we now have had 3 injuries on defensive players because of the lack of any attempt to get a 1st down. Including Alphonso Smith.

McKinnley fumble on the return and Seattle gets the ball. He is hurt on the play--but it looks like he just got his bell rung which leads to 3 more Seattle points.
