Denver Trading Wilson to Giants? (1 Viewer)

What is Denver going to get in return? Wilson by far one of the leagues best linebackers. Giants #!? It would give Denver 2 number 1's. Could Denver trade up to the 2 spot with Detriot who as said they would be willing to trade down for more picks? Denver could throw in one of there other picks like a 3. Then who would go 2?

Denver probably wants to get out of that contract...given that, they have very little leverage and probably would be lucky to get a 3rd round pick.

Supposedly Denver was unhappy with his performance last year. Maybe they are selling high. I find this move a little baffling, I have to say.

I seriously have no idea why they would want to get rid of him, he is a top 5 MLB. It had better be a 2nd and a 3rd, or a third and a player.

They might move DJ to MLB, but I don't like that.

I wonder what the Giants are willing to give up.

I also wonder if this happens with Pierce, do they move him outside or is this a sign that the G-men will look at going to a 3-4 defense?

If Giants are going 3-4, we'll take Kiwanku or Osi off your hands and you can have a browns d-lineman we have.

I'll :loco:

Could happen!

Bronco's and the Bills!

They swap first round picks, with Denver moving up to the 12th overall!

Denver gets one of Buffalo's third rounders

Denver gets Spikes....Bills get Bly.

Rumor has it that Wilson's shoulders are either shot or about shot. Not good for a MLB. With all the signings that the Broncos have made, they are probably looking to free up some money. The only real question is who replaces him? Earlier, it was reported that Denver offered Washington Wilson in a trade offer, but they decided to sign London-Fletcher instead. So, it's very possible that Wilson does get moved...NYG just doesn't make sense to me though because then you take either him or Pierce and have to move them to WLB.

He had a down year, makes a lot of money, and I thought I read he had shoulder problems.

He has had shoulder trouble for about the past 3 years. He has still produced.

If the rumors are true about the Jets wanting a second for Vilma, I'll be shocked if they get anything more then a third.

I think they will go after one of the Giants young d-lineman or possibly their safety. And maybe a fourth/fifth rounder.

Do you mean one of their young ends?Because I don't think they are going anywhere. I'm sure the Giants would rather give up the 3rd rounder.

I don't think Denver would give up Wilson for a third rounder though, I think they want a player-player exchange.

Wilson is a nice LB but I've felt his play had become more and more inconsistent over the past two seasons. Some very, very good games mixed in with a few stinkers, especially in coverage although his tackling slipped a bit, too.In Jim Bates' scheme (the University of Miami 4-3), the MLB is the playmaker. Big tackles to take the heat off a rangy, usually intimidating MLB who gobbles up everything he can get to. Micheal Barrow, Ray Lewis, Ken Norton, Zach Thomas, Jonathan Vilma, etc. DJ Williams, while he's a very good OLB, can fit that bill perfectly. Schefter's reporting that it would be Williams and he's usually dead on. I can't see the Broncos making this move to highlight Nate Webster.

One beat writer for the Giants, apparently with a good source, is reporting Wilson would play WLB and Pierce would remain inside. There's no way new DC and Jim Johnson disciple Steve Spagnuolo would be moving to a 3-4, especially with the current defensive line personnel and a complete lack of ready-made 3-4 outside backers.

Thanks. I read that this morning. They are also speculating what it would cost the Giants

It's unclear at this point what kind of compensation Denver expects in return for Wilson, though it's likely the Giants are shopping one or more draft picks. There's also a chance the Broncos would want to jump up one spot in the first round by exchanging their No. 21 pick for the Giants' spot at 20. If a player were to be involved, it would probably be a defensive end because the Giants have depth at the position and the Broncos need help there. Two-year veteran Justin Tuck might be an option.I can't see the Broncos giving up Wilson just to move up one spot in the draft but as a Giants fan I would love that deal. Not sure how I feel about Tuck for Wilson, I know the G-Men are deep at DE but Strahan is old and won't be around for too many more years. That would just leave them with Osi and Kiwi.

Talk is that The Nroncos tried to trade WIlson to the Skins.

Then they tried to include him in a package to Detroit for the #2.

Now talks are ongoing with NYG and the Eagles could be interested.

It looks like Wilson's stay in Denver is just about over. I guess at the $5+ million and the roster bonus, Denver thinks he will cost too much this year and that DJ Williams can perform better at ILB in the Jim Bates scheme.

If Wilson passes physical it's a done deal

It seems likely that the two sides will swap first round draft picks and that New York will send a player, probably defensive end Justin Tuck, back to Denver
If this is true I don't think I like the deal.
